True, but on my clunky old tablet it does seem to be running slightly faster than before. Probably just a coincidence though.
That will be thanks to all the people still not using it after the hiatus, I suspect!

Hopefully the mods will notify us in advance when the next migration is due to begin.

Lately, unfortunately not. There are some I can call on in times of trouble though. lol

Some men get pretty good at not looking at instructions and notices though. And most of the time they still succeed well, with the task at hand.

Please tell me they aren't going to allow sigs and gifs and all the bells and whistles other forums use to drag performance to a halt?

It's the first announcement of the three at the top of GD.

Announcement: Forum Upgrade - Update

http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/annou...hp?f=100&a=399
I am only seeing the old link about "read only" (which is broken) and the original announcement. The one about the update has gone awol from GD though it is there on other pages.

It may have been mentioned in one of the threads. Basically it said the forums will go read only at 10.30 am and I'm sure it was posted sometime around 10.00, perhaps a bit earlier.

A standard feature on forums allows you to turn sigs off if you want to.

Sorry, I didn't make that clear.

On GD I see:

Announcement: Forums are read-only while we update (which is broken)

and

Announcement: Important Forum Announcement - Please Read

but I do not see

Announcement: Forum Upgrade - Update
which is on other pages

You are assuming that enough people will dislike a post for it to be buried. We're not sure how much the system will be used, if at all, so only time will tell. We don't think you will see a buried post as often as you are expecting. A 'downvote' is countered by an 'upvote' so just because one person dislikes a post does not mean it will buried. The reaction feature will be an ecosystem that is controlled by our forum members.
Will we be able to see which posters have liked disliked, reacted to our posts?

No and nor have I expressed a wish or desire for the name's to be indicated by the like or dislike I'm merely trying to clarify as some think this will be the case and some don't.

I personally ain't bothered if people don't like the cut of my jib and that's evident by my posting history.
