Ever read a media story that has made you shed a few tears? Just came across this and it choked me up http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/38293294 . " A US man who dresses up as Santa Claus fulfilled a dying boy's Christmas wish by visiting him at his bedside, before the youngster passed away in his arms.

Eric Schmitt-Matzen rushed to a local in Tennessee hospital after receiving a call about a terminally ill five-year-old boy who wanted to see Santa Claus. "

What a sad story. The guy who played Santa did an amazing thing, giving the little boy some comfort in his final moments.

Heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. What a lovely, yet sad story.

Yes, it did make me cry, I'm afraid.

A terribly sad story.

Anything with dogs. I'm a fairly stoic man, but reading about a dying police dog on route to the Vets for the final time having a goodbye/funeral march with streets lined with visibly upset officers got to me a little.

That hit me harder Isn't there a house with 100+ children in under fire? What animals are they!?

I'm hormonal at the moment so don't dare read anything like that because I know I'll end up in floods of tears. In fact I'm getting teary-eyed at the thought of the headline.
/exits thread for tissues.

The news each day from Syria. The pictures of the elderly and children trudging down a war ravaged street that was home in search of some sanctury. Their despair and my sense of impotence.
