Aye right , as if he has the slightest clue about anything us commoners have to endure on a daily basis , he is a plonker born with status which we pay for and he thinks he is something special.

Why is his rudeness excused?
Usually because of his age
If anyone else came out with a lot of his remarks, they wouldn't be excused as amusing and witty, but sexist and mysogonistic
The fact that he's the Queens" rock" and started the Duke of Edinburgh Award and various charities, seems to give him carte Blanche
Of course he's human and his unlikeable traits do not mean he's not a good man, but the media could at least be honest when they write about him. He's only like many old granddads after all
Perhaps the Queen does nag him in private when he's overstepped the mark!
Wonder if anyone has ever told him he's a truculent, curmudgeonly old buffoon?
Probably have , but found themselves unemployed afterwards!
Or, he might think their honesty is refreshing and hates being fawned over

Usually when the tabloids accuse him of being rude or not Politically Correct, the people he is supposed to have offended have no problem with what he said.

Well, they couldn't say much else, could they?
If it had come from a stranger in the street, his comments may well have caused an argument or fight
When it comes from HRH, it's amusing banter
From anyone else it's an insult

A colleague's friend worked for Fife Council many years ago, and Brenda and Phil were on an official visit to some department or other. Phil asked my colleague's pal where she lived. "Methil", was the reply. "That's a bit of a dump isn't it?" said HRH. "Well, we can't all live in grace and favour houses you know" she replied tartly, at which point Their Majesties were ushered swiftly onwards...
