Well at first i thought these two would not work together as they looked a bit mismatched. But i have grown to like them as couple. And it helps that they are played by two good actors

Their talk scene in the church was the first time I found myself not minding Cathy. I'm still glad they've separated though.

No. Roy has looked miserable af and uncomfortable throughout this relationship. It's mostly been others telling him to do stuff and being forced to take their 'relationship' to the next level. Cathy is irrirating and so are her two family members, I'm hoping they all leave.

Cathy is far from irritating. I think she has an uniqueness to her that is totally endeaijng. Tb
Thanks to the superb actress.

Roy will never move on from Hayley and I felt truly sorry for him tonight thst he is trapped in his own little world.

Agreed. Tonight it made sense that he tried to make it work with Cathy as Hayley made him promise to move on and meet someone else. I don't know if Cathy might be more bearable without Roy as I don't mind her as much when she is with Yasmeen.

I like Cathy, but I would rather she and Roy remained as friends. He is autistic, at least I think he must be, so he will always find it difficult to fit in. Cathy has been hurt by her husband and her sister and needs more time to recover. Melanie Hilll is a great actress so I expect she will move on from the street, but not just yet I hope.

No. Roy is a loner, his time with Hayley was a one-off in his life. I am pleased that the wedding did not go ahead. I hope that Cathy now goes to Scotland with Nessa and Alex.

Agreed

Roy was a one woman man, sadly she's gone and he will never be suited to anyone else although I think Kate Oates will probably have other plans.

The only person I wouldn't mind seeing him in a relationship or sorts with is Mary.

I've never liked Roy and Cathy as a couple. Generally I don't mind when characters move on when their loved ones die in soap, but Hayley and Roy were so made for each other, Cathy and him just didn't seem right to me. I'd have preferred if theyd stayed friends.
As others have said, I'm now hoping Alex and Nessa disappear back up to Scotland.

The problem is they threw him together with Cathy far too early. If they were friends now and it developed recently it probably would be fine but Roy as a character would never have gotten into a serious relationship so soon after Hayley.

I like Cathy too and I've always been a fan of Melanie Hill, hope she sticks around for a while.

Funnily enough, I could see Cathy and Brian becoming a couple.

When Cathy first came to the street i remember reading comments on forums that she was too strange because of the hoarding but i thought she seemed rather sad and lonely. i like her a lot but she and Roy were never really meant to be, I don't know if he'll be able to move on from Hayley. i do think they got together a bit soon after Hayley died.

I agree. They're fine as friends but anymore just didn't sit right. I don't mind Cathy as a character but she didn't 'get' Roy. If they'd got together much more slowly, over a period of years, it may have worked but this was too rushed. Roy wasn't ready to move on and Cathy was pressuring him.

From last night's episode, she's clearly renting her house out. I don't think that had ever been mentioned before, a bit of an oversight really!

I'm delighted they've split up. They don't work. Hated Cathy last night, she didn't need to humiliate Roy, his intentions were good. Flawed, but good.

Hate them together but think that the character of Cathy can work very well indepedently of Roy.
I could also see Roy (in time) having more of a connection with Mary

I disagree on the Roy and Mary pairing. Mary looked absolutely stunning at the wedding she is a vibrant fun woman and I fear Roy would drain the life out of her. I get that everyone loves Roy but I find him incredibly dull. He would be happy train spotting and reflecting on his life with Hayley. Mary needs a hot guy (not Phelan or Kevin)! Come on Corrie surely you can cast a decent guy for Mary.

Me too, prefer them as friends. I never thought Roy wanted to marry her, he'll always belong to Hayley.

I don't mind Cathy and felt sorry for her many times with Roy. He will never give her what she needs. I think she would be good with Brian. Brian can at least see his partner as a person with needs. Roy can't see past his own issues.

When they first got together I didn't mind them together at all.

However over the past few months and years I've definitely wondered if/when they'd split up-and I'm glad they have.

Cathy is a character I don't mind but she's felt "lost" since moving onto the Street-in some ways I actually feel it's inhibited her character and made Cathy also forgettable.

I don't wish to see her leave the cobbles but part of me is wondering if she and Nessa will reconcile and ultimately move away from Weatherfield. That's the impression I'm getting.

No I've never liked the pairing of these two and I almost feel stressed for Roy who is almost OCD having to put up with the hoarder Cathy. I mentioned in another thread that she would make a better pairing with Brian
