Their celebs seem to have really enjoyed their time on the show (apart from Will Young), and their partnets were a HUGE reason for that. It seems like they make an extra effort with their celebs, and it continues after the show too.

Zoe and Ian are, apart from those who are life couples, probably the closest friends.
Ian sees Zoe and her separated husband all the time and they holiday together regularly.

It seems like the couples grow really close during the show and many are often in tears after leaving and not dancing again with their partner. Some partnerships seem to just really gel and I wonder if many stay in contact after the show, apart from all the romances of course!

I've not been watching the show for years and years but recall Janette saying that she's still in touch with Jake and Peter for example. I think Pixie and Trent worked together after Strictly as well.

I find the dynamic of the whole thing really interesting. I mean the couples haven't met before but spend hours and hours together for months on end, winning and losing together so it must create a really interesting dynamic.

I wonder how it translates to the 'outside world'?”

Jay and Aliona do.

Well Ian is gay and engaged to a man, so probably not.

Wasn't it Mark Foster - the swimmer who was a celeb contestant the same year and is involved with Natalie and Ian's get fit through dancing charity and danced with her on tour or am I misremembering here?

Mark Ramprakash and Karen Hardy seem to have remained friends. She took her son to see him play cricket quite a bit over the years.
