They have examined four of the most likely options and none are looking great.

That's pretty devastating right there. The idea that you can have full sovereignty coupled with no freedom of movement, not even with your nearest neighbours, and yet supposedly be able to trade freely in a global economy shows you how absolutely bonkers Brexit is at an economic level (but we all know it is a purely political / populist venture).

You'e right - UK politicians need to come clean and say that economically Brexit is going to be damaging but also remind voters that a (small) majority voted for this. But they won't because it will be political suicide.

But then even the fact that it could cost £25 billion to 'save' £18bn seems to not deflect many.

I watched Raoul Ruparel give evidence to a select committee and could not understand why anyone would waste billions to make it difficult for UK companies to trade with it's largest single market.

Turning our back on £25bn for an investment of £8bn - £10bn does not make sense.

This catastrophe is down to the votes of less than 2% of those who turned out to vote.

'SMALL' is far more descriptive than '(small)'.

There's a show coming to town shortly, which features a sad, deluded bunch of fantasy politicians, egged on by a fanatical rump of the population colliding with reality and facing the stark choice of leading the country into economic disaster with a smile on their faces, or making the most humiliating climb down in generations.

It won't be pretty, and it will be a surround-sound production for everyone. There will be no interval, or escape at the end.

The stupid, however, will be revealed as being very stupid indeed.

Yes, the Pied Piper is out and about leading the gullible towards the cliff edge and chaos. It is very sad.

The Lords want to frustrate Brexit - well, what a surprise.

How long before someone trots out the magic mantra that is meant to trump every discussion ...... "Project fear."

The nation will owe them a huge debt of gratitude if they are successful.

You do sort of wonder how 200 countries in the world manage to engage in free trade without being part of a political union requiring freedom of movement like the EU!. There will be a transition but it will be worth it to leave a trade area which has had the lowest growth in the world in the last decade.

But no doubt the 104 unelected Lib Dem Lords will carry on talking our prospects down as they will do everything they can to frustrate Brexit. A bit like people posting endless negative threads on Internet forums.

The 104 LibDem Lords have a combined intelligence greater than that of the entire Leave vote. We desperate need them to save us from the wreckers.

I am sure that the Swiss - a people so wary of international engagement that they only joined the UN in the 1990s - don't believe that EFTA, which has freedom of movement, constitutes a "political union".

Nor indeed do any of EFTA's other members.

Rather EFTA, just like the EU, can only be described as being a "political union" in the sense that they pursue common political goals (such as free trade) in union (ie together).


Yeah, of course there will, because all the politicians of the EU have nothing better to do with their time than to bend over backwards to give our Brexit politicians an amazing deal to save them from being hoisted on their own petard.

How much intelligence does it require to become a Lib Dem party hack, get kicked out by the voters, be a party donor or carry Clegg, Ashdown or Campbell's bags - the only reason most of them are in the Lords.

Party hacks
Ex MPS who got kicked out by voters
Used to be assistants to the party leaders or
Party donors
Plus some hereditaries who sit there cos their great grandad X 10 was mates with Henry VIII

Cos that's what almost all of them are if you bothered to check the list out. And we never voted for any of them!
