I've got myself an Oculus Rift and Touch Controllers and the camera sensors can be extended by 1/4" fittings. I've seen these:

hxxps://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/686713-REG/Matthews_350602_4_20_510mm_Rod_for.html

which would be ideal but I live in the UK and the customs and shipping fees cost an arm and a leg. I've looked at online shops that sell camera equipment and they have things that would be suitable but cost around 30 quid which is beyond my means, and I can't get camera tripods because I don't have the space for them.

So instead I was thinking about selfie sticks as a possible cheap alternative but I've no clue about them. Do they come with a 1/4" male and female connections as standard or don't they come with these connections at all..?

Basically all I want is a rod that's around 1m in length with a 1/4" male and female connection at each end, and if I can't get one that big I'd want to attach two smaller ones together.

Does anyone know where I can get something like the rod in the above link in the UK that isn't going to cost me an arm and a leg? I mean it's just a metal rod with a screw fitting in each end for gawd's sake lol

Many thanks in advance for any help!

How about a length of threaded rod (probably screwfix or B&Q etc).? Then get a long and short nut for one end. Put the short nut on first, then the long one, halfway so you have female thread, lock them off together. You could always get some cheap heat shrink wrap to make it look a feel a bit tidier.

Then simply attach it to your brain and off you go.
