She'd still go on about independence if she did.

Theresa May was Home Secretary for six years, that's pretty good experience compared to Cameron or Blair.

makes sense. England is a country in tatters right now. Xenophobic Muslim-racists shooting themselves in the head, having to choose between "Austerity £995 trousers" May and "unshaven socialist Corbyn".

Scotland is a thriving paradise, I visited Edinburgh a few weeks ago, people just getting on with their lives, free art galleries and museums, people of all cultures wandering around, free prescriptions, more and more care workers getting the National Living Wage, and excellent tram and transport systems.

I think English people fed up of the May (Trump) and Corbyn (Clinton) choice and who are still a bit annoyed at Lib Dems and who don't quite agree fully with Greens (despite them being the best choice) may celebrate the arrival of a new party standing for the people.

dont make me laugh most English people would rather vote for screaming Lord such.
Or maybe the national front.

Who pays for free everything in your paradise?
Funniest thread in weeks, so much better than all the desperate whining remainers crap.

There are better prospects for all if Scotland and Northern Ireland remain in the EU as the New UK, and let England and Wales cast off into the Atlantic on their own. Everybody would be happy.

No there are not. Scotland wouldn't get as good a EU deal as now, and has hardly any bargaining power.

And the vast majority of Scottish trade is with England , so it would lose far more than it gained.

Whereas all the other PMs we've had were busy running other countries before they took over the hit seat, eh?

Only too happy to, Dumfries is lovely! If, somehow, Scotland remained in the EU-ish and prospered, wonder, however, how many people would move north? Companies??

Also today I wonder how many move north simply for the free prescriptions and "far better" education system?

Is the Scots education system "far better"??

Much the same as in England.

Live in a wealthy area, Catholic or can afford private education your kids will do well. If not...

I can't answer for the system but there was a time when Scottish education was the envy of at least much of the world; not any longer.

Not now but once it certainly was. Teachers in rural primary schools were graduates in the 19th century.

I went to a Scottish primary and when I cam down to England I was two years ahead. Every single child in the reception class in Scotland could read at the end of the year when they were four. In England aged five I spent my first year in school teaching children to read.

Please don't let on that many kids had at least a modicum of reading ability when they started school.

It is very unusual for a new PM of the UK to have any experience of running a nation.

Why does anyone think sturgeon is a good leader?

What has she done?

Well she's carried on spending despite Scotland having the largest budget deficit in the UK.

Annihilated her opponents at the polls and being re-elected as leader of her ruling party in Scotland.

Is that an end in itself or has she a list of impressive policies that she has introduced that have improved the lives of Scots and the country generally?

No doubt the Scottish posters will enlighten us as to her many triumphs.
