makes sense. England is a country in tatters right now. Xenophobic Muslim-racists shooting themselves in the head, having to choose between "Austerity £995 trousers" May and "unshaven socialist Corbyn".

Scotland is a thriving paradise, I visited Edinburgh a few weeks ago, people just getting on with their lives, free art galleries and museums, people of all cultures wandering around, free prescriptions, more and more care workers getting the National Living Wage, and excellent tram and transport systems.

I think English people fed up of the May (Trump) and Corbyn (Clinton) choice and who are still a bit annoyed at Lib Dems and who don't quite agree fully with Greens (despite them being the best choice) may celebrate the arrival of a new party standing for the people.

The Tate Gaĺlery is free. As are many English museums. Better than anything Scotland has to offer. It will never happen. Christine Graham was put forward theoretically as a candidate for Berwick upon Tweed but it was dismissed by the SNP as it's not in Scotland. The premise is nonsense.

Congratulations on the funniest, silliest and most nonsensical post I've ever seen on Digital Spy. I've been here since 2003 so that takes some beating.

OP, you are aware of the requirement of a PM to command a majority in the HOC?

Yes...

The current masters of Westminster are highly capable when it comes to protecting their own interests above everyone else's.

Vive la status quo.

Well, this has burst my Edinburgh bubble too

I've visited it twice, supporting someone & to chaperone my Grandparents afew years ago & I was blown away by the friendly nature of the locals, beautiful old buildings/architecture. I stayed both times in Portobello, just off the beach there & took the (45?) into the main city. Never any hint of violence/drugs.

I left feeling God I wanna live here! Its like a smaller version of London - but without the meaness & attitude thrown in. I'm aware I was a TOURIST, and that Portobello had an element of the 'hipster' about it!

Glasgow, on the other hand just felt run down, dirty & had an atmosphere to it. Soz Glaswegians!

I've always admired Nicola Sturgeon, but, its more what I see on tv than any true knowledge of Scottish politics. So this thread gives me pause for thought!

ie: Things are a load of poop everywhere for everybody... Unless you're well off.

I don't know what you're on OP but it gave me a good laugh. Sturgeon is no more likely to be PM than you or I are - she's just a big mouthed, jumped up squirt.

Does the SNP insist that their leaders must have fishy surnames? No doubt the next one will be Pillock - oops I mean Pollock

I wish they had voted for their independence. A lot of them whinged about that result, thinking it was a fix, whereas the truth is they bottled it. Now they're whinging again at the result of the democratic vote in the UK, which they voted to stay in.

Do they ever, ever stop whining?

Sturgeon won't be the next UK PM, there isn't enough stupid people in the UK outwith Scotland that will vote for the SNP.

A 'people in Scotland are stupid' post.

Charming.

Why is it stupid for people in Scotland to vote SNP? If that's what you're saying.

I think your problem is with the SNP, rather than Scots generally. Most of whom, as you say, voted to stay in the UK and are probably willing to accept the EU referendum result.

They just seem to be a perpetual cause of argument.

They wanted an independence vote, got it, and bottled it. Now they're complaining about the result of another democratic vote, and want to stay in the EU.

Sorry, but they just piss me off.

Who, the Scots or the SNP? There seems no particular reason to be annoyed with the former.

I'm not drawing a distinction, nor am I being drawn into an argument about it. So you can have the last word on this one, if you wish.

Thanks. I would just say that it seems very odd that you don't draw any distinction between the SNP and Scots generally, when around half of them don't vote SNP and most at the last referendum didn't want independence.

outwith
Outside; beyond:

I think you two need to go back to school, I was talking about people outside of Scotland, People in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Most of whom are not stupid enough to vote for a party that would only look after the interests of less than 10% of the public.

It isn't stupid for people to vote for the SNP in Scotland, but it is stupid for people who live elsewhere to vote for them. Their sole reason for existence is to make Scotland Independent regardless of the effect it will have, so why would anyone vote them to run the UK?

Thanks for clearing that up. It did look as though you were saying it's stupid for people anywhere to vote for the SNP.
