It seems a dismal start to Christmas with Southern Rail currently on strike, the postal service have decided to strike leading upto Christmas and now Argos drivers have called a strike over back pay.

Also its only a relatively small number of counters that will be affected.
The one thing they all have in common is that they are all coming up to the busiest time of the year were the strike will have the most effect against their employer ( and unfortunately the public) there by strengthening the unions hand in negotiations.
Argos drivers could go permanently on strike as far as I am concerned, hurt them long before it hurts me. Most Argos products can be bought cheaper elsewhere.

That’s why their worried about who presses the button to close the doors because the next step will be completely computerised trains and that will be a good thing as far as I’m concerned and much more viable than automated cars.
And now Virgin Atlantic pilots too. And the check-in staff and baggage handlers at 18 UK airports, including Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow.
Reminds me of this: "1978-79 - The Winter of Discontent: In response to government wage restraint, inflation and IMF austerity measures, a massive wave of industrial unrest spreads across Britain."
