Well thank-you for your erudite and insightful preview but I'll watch a few programmes before making my decision if that's alright with you.

Casualty. That's on every week....for the last fifty years. Whoever does these Christmas schedules needs a good slap.

New Year's Day looks great, but that NYE schedule is terrible.

I've never been a Sherlock or Mrs Brown's Boys fan, so there isn't much there that appeals to me. The only thing I'll give a try is EastEnders, hopefully there is something big happening and maybe Still Open All Hours.

If you are a real masochist then on New Year's Eve you can watch BBC Scotland with Only an Excuse followed by an hour of a bunch of drunken Scots in skirts! STV don't seem to doing anything live.

Wish people would stop moaning. More to life than TV.

Should be having a party instead of watching TV or at least stick on a film.

Certainly not this lot. Looks like it'll be whatever's on the other channels. I particularly hate ridiculous soaps like eastenders or casualty.

I suggest broadening your horizons by checking out Netflix/Amazon
The days of good TV on the main channels are long gone.

ITV are still to be confirmed. I looked on their site and although they are starting to show scheduled programmes, they have not been confirmed.

The Morecambe and Wise programmes is all "the usual suspects" introducing clips and is billed as "New". The first two names put me right off it - David Walliams, Jack Whitehall ..

I've got a PVR with only 6% spare disc space at present . I find the Christmas period ideal for watching all the unwatched recorded stuff.

And there has been is good stuff on TV this year. Some of the BBC drama has been excellent.
