As a former Muslim,

I'm enjoying the movements and thinking of these groups of oppressed individuals. Oppressed by an ideology but more importantly oppressed by popular culture/media and society.

It certainly must not be fashionable to be a Muslim nowadays, one of the reasons I had to leave it. I'm too sexy to be limited by religion and politics.

So far the people who STAND OUT to me are Mehreen for being so understanding and thoughtful and the way she carries herself, not to mention being so pretty, she's attractive.

Another one is Abdul Haqq, he seems like a rabbit in headlights to me, frozen, paralysed by information, paralysis by over analysis, something 99% of this country suffers with. Metabolic syndrome, diabetes, chronic autoimmune disorders, extremism, it's all the same thing, lack of movement, too much thinking. Deprived of movement, we all have a thirst for information but at a certain point it turns back on you and paralyses you and is no longer a necessary tool for your development. This is Abdul Haqq.

The two gay guys, one of them is gay and the other one is supposed to be married but looks like he is enjoying the company of his friend. Man, what the ****, what has sexuality got to do with the purpose of this show?

The rest of them are your typical boring human beings, the fat black guy is so funny and such a good person, I like him, feeding the homeless.

Can't wait for the inevitable shit show tonight.

Hmm they are SO oppressed that they have been given prime time, uncensored access and air time on the BBC?. Not sure that Saudi Arabian television would provide such a service to Jews or Christians.
However I do agree with you that to progress as a human being, you need to free yourself from the restrictions that religion requires, especially the fundamentalist ones.
The inclusion of the gay men is an obvious tool to promote discussion and argument - as an ex Muslim, you will be aware of the potential for conflict there!

The reason for them being filmed is Entertainment.

Let's make a show called Jews Like Us and point at them and label them terrorists

Do you remember how much Ali was promoted when black people were oppressed?

Entertainment has nothing to do with real shit

Tonight's instalment should be interesting - not sure how much this program proves because for all that there are people of Muslim faith on the program that are well rounded, warm people, i've still seen idiots on social media chastising them as not being proper Muslims because they refuse to do the whole segregating sexes thing or getting off on non-Muslims dying in terror attacks! The fear is how many good people are there compared to the number of those with warped views!

The integration thing is difficult, some Muslims don't integrate and it's hard for non-Muslims sometimes to attempt to integrate with Muslims if you don't know whether they look down us because we don't believe in segregating sexes, opression of females etc.

Mahreen has to realise that not all Muslims are like her in nature or belief.

Mahreen needs to get her head out of her backside a bit - uni students go out drinking, the girl could have gone out with them and drank soft drink so she could socialise with them!

And now some of them have a problem with British war memorials! Not doing Muslim faith any favours!

I worked for a company in Leicester that was very multicultural in its workforce. Whenever we had a work night out, it was white people, black people, Hindu's and Sikhs, but never ONE Muslim.

The Muslims generally stayed in their own groups even at work, nice though they were.

It's starting to hack me off now that women aren't allowed to take part in the conversations in that house! Or the nice gay lad whose name I can't remember.

Two women (Shia and slightly older Asian) the Syrian, the gay one and the fat man are reasonable.

The others are absolute arses.
Especially the unfunny comedian.

I don't know how to feel with this, if a person of Muslim faith is born and bred in Britain, how do you not feel a bit British and appreciate British landmarks? I'm from Hull but it doesn't mean I don't love the architecture in Edinburgh etc and feel it's part of my heritage! I have Irish and Portuguese heritage from some Great Grandparents - I embrace it all!

How bloody hypocritical is Abdul Huq and his crazy statements about Britain being draconian!

This programme so far isn't portraying Muslims in a good light in my opinion.

No it isn't, it's disappointing and a shame for the decent harmless Muslims. I think it highlights that too many Muslims have too many differing takes on their faith and their attitudes towards the British non-Muslims that they share a country with.

I was bullied loads at school by fellow British kids so should I deny that i'm British as a protest?

And this shuts her argument down immediately, an unbelievable amount of stupid things have been said.

That poor Scottish lad has probably felt nothing but homophobic tension towards him from those backward neanderthols since the moment he walked in that house.

All screaming and shouting about an onion. Insulting people's parents over an onion.

Yup and what is the obsession and difference it makes whether or not a woman has a bloody scarf wrapped around her head or not!

Sometimes it just happens like that, some tiny thing gets blown up out of all proportion. Maybe being all cooped up together like that makes people more irritable, I know it would me anyway.

Good point raised on twitter that this experiment has shown that people of Muslim faith can't even get on with each other never mind non-Muslims! Doesn't bode well for any future improvements in relations between the differing communities!

I feel the same live despite living in London. Nature, countryside, the landmarks etc are part of being British to me, it isn't hard to get out of London and see a bit of nature or a historical site. It is hardly an alien world...only if you let it be.

No what is shows is, as the Shia girl said, how can we define what a Muslim is when there are so many different types and that they cannot even define it either.
In other words, let''s stop judging Muslims when a Muslim fundamentalist carries out an atrocity. They are not all the same.
