I thought the celebs weren't allowed to choose a post-Blackpool dance as their favourite? Or am I making that up? I'm sure it was the case last year??

Ore has the obviously crowd-pleasing music - Joanne will produce a great routine for him so I am really looking forward to that one.
I think Kevin's choice for Louise is very, very clever. One Moment in Time is a big, big, emotional song which will camouflage Louise's tendency to be a little bit reserved when she dances. I see a fairy princess dress, big crescendos, lots of pivots and some classy American Smooth style lifts at the climax. A whole routine designed to trigger a Craig RH 'gaw-juss'. It is not a song on my own playlist - but I think Whitney might win it for Louise. ![]() |

Well Ore has the winning Showdance tune doesn't he? Who doesn't love the Gene Kellyesque Hollywood style and his Singin in the Rain went down well. Very predictable,I knew he would dance to that type of music, I think it could win it for him like it did Tom Chambers. The public always love that style.

I like all three showdance picks, and am excited that we'll get two ballroom-based showdances (very clever of Jo to go big American Smooth old-Hollywood style so they can capture the essence of their AS and leave their favourite pick to be the Jive), and also that Danny & Oti's seems to have a more contemporary feel to it - I usually hate those type of dances but I loved their AS, so I have faith that if anyone can do some really magical contemporary-ballroom-Latin mix for a showdance it'll be Oti,
Favourite dances picks are about as predictable as they could possibly get, but I'm looking forward to seeing them again. From what Danny & Oti were saying on ITT today about choosing the Samba because they wanted their last dance together to be memorable and fun, it seems as if there may not be an elimination after the first two dances, so we'll get to see all the couples do all three? The post about dances on the BBC website implies that as well, and I hope it's right! |

Echoes of bacofoil, with added parson's nose. Slightly overcooked too. Yet completely lacking in sizzle. |

Do these selections make it possible to guess what the judges will/definitely won't pick?

For me and anyone else who doesn't follow the show closely, could someone explain the Bacofoil thing, please?

I can't say I was exactly looking forward to the final as no-one I like is in it but the song choices for the showdances, just make me want to switch off! I want to hear upbeat songs for the showdances, not some boring number by Adele, who I can't stand (obviously I'm the only one that thinks that as everyone else in the world seems to love her).
Upbeat songs for the showdances are always the showstoppers, not the slow songs. |

Ooooerrr, I can picture dramatic thunderstorm effects where Oti and Danny are dripping wet
![]() But I was hoping for something really dramatic, camp and fast like "Holding Out For A Hero" by Bonnie Tyler. Alesha used that for her showdance and it was fab-u-lissss. |

There's a tendency to get carried away on show dances and the urge to display your creativity. When they go well it's fantastic but sometimes - not so great.

Danny and Oti....I did not like that samba, (sorry 😟 and I do not like the showdance music choice;Louise and Kevin....liked their AT but not too sure re: showdance choice; Oti and Joanne.......could loose if they mess up but can see this being brilliant..... Wanted Claudia and AJ to win, thought their QS was awesome, really sorry not to see their showdance too. |

Wasn't it said last year that they couldn't do a dance from the previous 2 weeks (even though Kara had reprised her semi final rumba)- which got fans of Jay's rumba and charleston irritated?

In Kara's year it was highest scoring dance, show dance, new dance and then favourite dance. So she had to do a dance from the semi as her highest scoring. I think their favourite dances that year were all from earlier in the series.

Much prefer the idea of highest scoring dance instead of judges choice... Why can't we go back to that? A new dance instead of a showdance would be good too

Yes, Kara chose the American Smooth as her favourite, Matt Baker did Viennese Waltz.

I much preferred his quickstep and Charleston (with that amazing cartwheel). The only showdance music I like of the three is Ore's. However I have a terrible track record when it comes to picking the winner, so maybe my misgivings are a good sign! |

From memory, the Judge's choices have tended towards either a reprise of something early (chacha and waltz) or something that went obviously very wrong.
As long as they mix it up a bit. I do not especially want to see three week 1 dances that were never very interesting in the first place. |

I agree with much of this, and I've wanted Danny to win for a while (though I like the other two, and could possibly change my mind on the night).

and I do not like the showdance music choice;
