Averages 11 years for diagnosis? Is that true? I know they can't rush to diagnose in case they get things wrong as different illness can have the same symptoms, but 11 years!!

No, it's a load of rubbish. They're also confusing psychosis with bipolar (again), it's really annoying.

I have bipolar- it means you have moments of bad depression some days, moments of elevated mood others. It's basically just a form of depression- no doubt it could include psychosis and depression could trigger psychosis, but it's not the same thing.

It actually really pisses me off that they just shove stuff like this in without researching it properly.

I thought 11 years was a bit much. No experience with bi-polar, but my mental illnesses were diagnosed fairly quickly, treatment on the other hand is so poor with waiting lists you could end up waiting 11 years! But the diagnoses itself shouldn't never take that long.

Agreed! HOs really makes me angry with there view of mental illnesses, Sienna's therapy with making a wooden boat that was then destroyed by the laughing McQueens! They have chance after chance to show and educate people on mental illness and what therapy involves (even if that is unrealistic with real life waiting times versus next day therapy in the soap and pills working straight away), instead they dramatise the whole thing.

I like this desk sergeant more in a short scene of him telling OB to wait, than I liked Thorpe during his entire time on the show

So you can just arrest someone for murder just to get them to talk. No evidence, witnesses, nothing.

Get Tom a lawyer and that will scare Eva away, a murder charge?!!!! Laughable.

It's ridiculous that Eva is working this case alone, a whole family disappears which include children and just one random woman is working the case? The whole thing would be in the news, there would be a team of people working on the case. Anyone smart enough would know that Tom couldn't be charged with murder with absolutely no evidence.

WIth bipolar it's usually just describing your symptoms and moods to your GP, then referral to a psychiatrist, might take a few visits to get a diagnosis, but 11 years is ridiculous.

Me too, it's pretty awful at times. Just shows you how poorly understood mental illness still is.

Same with my illnesses, GP first and then psychiatrist.

I still remember Twitter users laughing at Cindy after her bipolar caused her to run through the village in a wedding dress. Soaps may just be some cheap entertainment to some people, but it does influence viewers, if soaps mock mental illness so with some of it's viewers, not all, but some. It also puts out false information, which is really damaging.

Well done Dirk!! Finally!! Maybe Cindy will get a break now. Marnie deserves everything she gets, Cindy is just trying to make up for leaving Alfie. I hope Cindy explains that she only took the blame because she didn't want Alfie to hate Marnie, but I bet they will focus on the money Cindy took.

Why would Tom arrange to meet Pez at The Folly at midday? Surely he would do it when it's dark ???
