Hospital letter copied to a cancer nurse?

Hi all,

I am currently under a neurosurgeon for on going issues with my head, neck and spine. I received a letter today advising he wants me to have some X rays before next appointment.

My letters are usually copied to my GP as this was BUT this was also copied to a lead nurse for Cancer Palliative care.

I am now anxious to why this has been done? do you think it could be a error?

Thanks all.

Yes, it does sound like an error. It could be that they have simply copied the wrong nurse in.

As an NHS secretary, mistakes can be made, but also the CNS (cancer nurse specialist) also deal with non-cancers but it happens to be a speciality of theirs. If they were even 0.0000001% suspicious of cancer, they would have told you in your first appointment.

Probably someone with a similar name, when i worked at the local council we had a county based outlook system and one of the people who ordered books for the county had the same surname and i'd get all sorts of crap....got so bad I had to formally lodge a complaint otherwise I was going to use the stuff I'd receive to order about a million copies of some book just so someone would actually realize I was not the same person.....oh it was tempting and if 50 shades had been out there would of been enough copies ordered to of filled Wembley stadium.
