The papers are full of speculation that Ellie Simmonds is the Beeb's number one target for SCD 2017?
They say that her height is not a problem as she is only 6" shorter than Claudia.

Ellie is a lovely lady who is a big fan and no doubt loves to dance but surely her leg length would make it practically impossible for her to dance with (probably) AJ?

Terra Jole (the first little person to take part in a such a dance comp) was on DWTS last season and made it to the Semi. Some of her dancing was beautiful. Her partner really made it work.

I didn't see that. Brilliant news then for Ellie.

6 inches shorter than Claudia would mean she'd be looking into AJ's navel!

Surely there must be a male pro dancer somewhere who is also a little person or at least a lot shorter than AJ. Can't believe there isn't.

Would be great for Ellie if she could be in it because she obviously loves dancing, but I'm worried there would be an element of sympathy voting from some who would see her disability before her ability..

They would have to get Vincent back or someone even smaller. Good excuse for Vincent to come back but I doubt he would.

Terra Jole managed to dance ballroom with professionals who were quite a bit taller.

She did seem to be a genuinely good dancer. Her cha cha looks very competent.

There are shorter professionals than AJ though.

In 2010 there was a competition on BBC TV called 'Dancing on Wheels' with James and Ola Jordan and Ade Adepitan as judges and Caroline Flack, Mark Foster, Michelle Gayle, Heather Small, Martin Offiah and Kevin Sacre as celebrity dancers with wheelchair partners.

It obviously didn't get the ratings because it wasn't repeated, but there is the World Dancesport Federation which has organised European and world championships since 1991. Last year's World championship was in Rome.

Must have passed me by, just shows though if it aint "mainstream" they don't really want to know, think ellie would make a great competitor/dancer, as most of our Olympians have shown when they dance.
