According to Daily Mail the other day Darcey was "plotting" to go above Craig and Bruno trying to convince BBC producers she's the ideal candidate for the Head Judge spot when Len departs at the end of this series...

>>> Please excuse me while I vomit in a bucket!

For me she is too bias towards the male celebs and has crucified the females this series... with her nit-picky critique. I thought I'd seen a change in her and I'm guessing turning bitch was her only option. If only she thought about the audiences reaction... there's many complaints on the BBC website and the DM comments section regarding her complete mauling of the girls this year... while gleaming about Ore's 'strong, muscular legs...' lol! Please love, if you can't see that all he did was stand, very unsteadily I might add - as Jo danced a whirlwind around him... You cannot be HJ!

I hope for hope that she's axed next year, bring on a younger well known dancer who's trained in Ballroom and Latin... no ballet.

Just for reference there was another article claiming they aren't fixing her for the role and all articles are just speculation...

Wow! What DID she do to you?

What a load of old &*%$£*&!!!

Neither Craig nor Bruno want the Head Judge job. Yes, really. Darcey is not in the running, and everyone agrees that a ballroom expert is the right way to go.

You might want to upgrade your reading matter!

I dont presume to know anything about dance but surely they need a ballroom expert ? Darcey is ballet trained and not enough knowledge for such a show

The BBC have issued a denial! Not happening.

I'd rather have Darcy. Craig only seems to like the highly gifted (the ones with experience). He doesn't seem to recognise improvement amongst the non-dancers, even if they seem to have made huge improvement.

I think Darcey would be perfect so I hope she does eventually get the position.

Oh no... all male quarter finalists is highly possible if she is the head judge.

I've really grown to dislike Darcey - she is very biased and seems to see what she wants to see rather than what is danced in front of her.

I first noticed this in series 11 with her bizarre overmarking of Patrick Robinson, and it's become even more obvious this year with her nit picking of Claudia and ignoring mistakes in Ore and Danny's routines. For instance, she mentioned Claudia's gapping in her QS, and as a result understandably gave it a 9. But she'd obviously failed to see the same issue in Ore's QS as she had given it a 10?

Craig is the man for the job for me.

I do agree with you about Darcey. I think shes very biased towards certain celebs and I don't think she should become head judge. She certainly had it in for Claudia this year.

For those talking about the Daily Mail. Ive read it from a number of sources so it cant just be dismissed because you don't like the DM.

Um, no. She's done a lot of TV programmes in her own right as main presenter. They may not have been ones you watched because they are focused on dance.

She's very good presenter.

I expect SCD is just for fun and to cover school fees or something. Not entirely why she chose to do it.

Agreed. I much prefer seeing her dealing with "proper" dance matters. I don't really think the scripted pantomime judge role she plays in Strictly (just as the other three have their assigned roles) does her any favours. More and more it makes me cringe.

I think the two ballroom (female) experts - one does SCD Italy and the other Australia didn't get offered enough money

Maybe nobody else wanted it?

I am a bit shocked. Why the hell would she want it?

She's wasted on SCD. I don't get why she'd say yes, but apparently she has!

Some people are going to explode!

Why does there have to be a Head Judge, perhaps in the event of a tie in the dance-off ,the "casting vote" should be the celebrity with the lowest public vote goes.

If there is to be a Head Judge, then one assumes its got to be one of the existing three and not a newcomer.
On that premise Darcy is probably the only candidate, as Craig will want to stay rebellious baddy and Bruno is too excitable and doesn't have the necessary gravitas.

As a matter of interest, what does Head Judge do apart from playing Eeny Meeny Miny Mo at the dance off, like every other judge? There must be more to it, but I know not what.

A good question I think it the judges votes are tied (which hardly ever happens) then yes go back to the public vote. Len is Head Judge because of his years and years of ballroom experience. If they can't get somebody of equal standard the position should be retired.

Nor me! Maybe it was just to pander to Len's gigantic ego? Or his age?
