Oh please NO, she is not qualified enough. And she is quite inconsistent in what she wants to see in a performance.

It was announced on breakfast telly yesterday that she is the new head judge.

By Dan Wooten who always knows the inside info before everyone else.

Really hope not! She's actually my least favourite judge. Just seems to waffle on in tangents and offer nothing substantive. Someone should tell her to make notes on the performances to have something to refer to.

And she seems the most biased out of all of them- really had it in for poor Claudia this year...

I was hoping they would replace her altogether, for some reason gone off her this year, mainly her entrances when the show starts etc.

I just been on his twitter, no mention of it only a rumour which he retweeted yesterday...

I saw the conversation he had with Lorraine and he said she was the head judge. He didn't say anything about it being a rumour.

Please no. I'd rather abolish the whole head judge system anyway.

I have some spare plates to serve the Humble Pie on if she gets the Job and the two biggest selling Newspapers in the UK were correct.

So there's a tie in the dance-off, and one of the celebrities is a good-looking young man.

I think we know the answer, don't we...

Oddly enough, the BBC hasn't announced anything. In fact it has denied all suggestions.

Until they announce it, I hardly think we can call it a done deal.

So much for tabloids and breakfast telly.

surley not she knows nothing about ballroom or Latin so how can she be head judge, surley the head judge has to be a ballroom and Latin expert?

If only there was a way to check whether this was true, say like looking at the marks and seeing that she has marked Claudia consistently higher than Craig, only once given Claudia the lowest mark of the four (wk 5), and has given her 9 for each of her last six dances with only Len's one 10, and Bruno's two 10s higher and one 8 from Craig lower in that period. In what world, outside a fevered imagination, does that add up to having it in for anybody?

Why? There is one responsibility and that's carrying the casting vote in the very rare event of a split decision and very occasionally a role in keeping the judges in agreement for the one challenge dance a year. Technical expertise is neither here nor there. If she's qualified enough to judge she's qualified enough to be head judge.

In comparison to the other couples, Darcey "had it in for" Claudia. She always managed to find a reason not to give her a 10 (e.g. "gapping" in the Quickstep), but overlooked faults and errors in others, e.g. there was gapping in Ore's Quickstep, and she gave it a 10. She also admitted to ignoring Danny's footwork in his Tango (!!!) and gave it a 10, whilst saying that Claudia could have roared like a lion in her Salsa more

As has been mentioned, if there is any truth to the rumours - a load of handsome blokes who can't put one foot in front of the other for the final next series!

I get your point but for me it was how she seemed to ignore faults in others but zero in on Claudia for such small details e.g. connection in the rumba. I mean saying she wasn't focused on Danny's feet in his tango when both Craig and Len pointed out his lack of heel leads (which I believe is a fundamental element to it)!

Also, for me, her scores for Claudia just didn't marry with what she said. Was praising her to high heaven in the AT but then gave a 9 for example. If you give a 9 fair enough, but you have to point out a flaw for that to be credible imo.

You'll have to do better than cherry-picking to illustrate your point. Why not compare each judges' scores against the other judges' scores? Across the series.

It has been done before.

I agree with those who say there shouldn't be a head judge. Lowest public vote should go in the event of a split decision in the dance off. And for the danceathons, each judge should have 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 marks to award - a different score to each competing couple - and the overall scores should be worked out from there. If it results in a draw, so be it.

I feel that Darcey is my least favourite judge as she shows bias to males and I find she doesn't come across as genuine. I would love Bruno as Head Judge just because he is so excitable and it would be a laugh.

Darcey is my least favourite judge. I want someone with a proper competition ballroom background for head judge. Not Darcey please.
