I'm cautiously optimistic about it.
Any idea when it will start or is likely to?
It will certainly mean DS forums is never quite the same again! 😁

Well I think we are past the hope stage as they've indicated this will be part of the upgrade.

I would love a 'I'm On' button which lists all the threads on which one has posted. Oh and the ability to show the OP's posts in a different colour and our own posts in a different colour - very useful when scanning a thread.

I think a dislike button is a terrible idea

A change of the background shade of grey nearly produced heart attacks a while back. I predict mass de-registering if not riots.
If de-registering is one of the new features that is.

It didnt bother me as I quickly found the stylish blue skin, and mine has looked the same since, however if that is disabled once the new upgrade takes place, then I may lose my rag ! D

I dislike the potential addition of those buttons. I would like it if those buttons were never added.

I hope everybody likes this response enough to agree with it.
Mark.

You can do that already by subscribing to threads.

http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/profi...do=editoptions

Scroll down to "Default Thread Subscription Mode" and select "No email notification" from the dropdown menu. Threads you post in will then be listed here: http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/usercp.php when they have new posts.

Perhaps we'll get lucky and that feature will quickly break like search and the adverts did.

Search and Destroy, as I like to call it

Divisive! I doubt it will last long. I've only seen it used on one forum site and it had to be withdrawn due to accusations of bullying, groups ganging up against individuals and a mod team overwhelmed by complaints. ...... and that was amongst a group of over 50s.

It works really well though when a forum only has a like button.

I may be mis-remembering, but I thought - on one of the other threads where we were discussing it - that the mod had come on and said it would only be like, not dislike?

There's absolutely no need for a dislike button...it tells you s*d all anyway. What are they meant to be disliking. I'll be demanding explanations.😠😒

Would make sense. The site I know that has this feature also notifies you when your post is liked or when you've been quoted, which along with a link lets you quickly see the responses of other posters.

Not exactly in the spirit of discussion, is it? It'll be more like a collection of comments, like YouTube.

From Important Forum Announcement - Please Read:

The chronology of posts is something we are very keen to preserve.

Will look into media being disabled as a user option. Not seeing it at the moment but it is certainly something we can investigate if we choose to go live with it.”

The reaction feature will be an ecosystem that is controlled by our forum members.”
