Gosh, I'm still trying to get my head around Denise & Phil having sex, I mean really?! 🙀

It seems pointless making Phil the father. If Denise ends up keeping the baby, I would find it very unrealistic. She has made it clear that she has no interest in being a mother again, regardless of the fact that Phil is the father. Also she hasn't really shown any real emotional connection to her baby. Like has she even looked at her baby scans and until Libby came along, she hadn't bought anything for the baby.

I agree that it would have been more interesting if the baby was Kush's. If the baby was Kush's, but she didn't want it, she would feel more conflicted about giving it up for adoption because she has feelings for Kush.
Exacty! Especially given Kush's recent loss of Zaair, it would've been a very interesting point of conflict to between him, the young man who's recently lost a child and would be excited to have another one, and Denise, the middle-aged woman who's had her kids and is looking for something more out of life.

Why did they have to take it down the unispiring 'One Night Stand Daddy' route yet again? I really like Denise as a character and am dreading the possibility of her keeping the baby and spending the next 20 years playing tug-of-war with Phil over it.

I have a horrible feeling that Phil and Sharon will lay claim to it and she will have to suffer the horror of it being brought up by a thug right under her nose.
I will be very surprised if that happens. I think that Denise would rather raise the baby herself than let Phil have anything to do with the baby.

I agree.

The only thing that is giving me hope is that we have a new producer in charge so maybe what we think will happen, won't. He might not agree with the storyline so may want to finish it off and forget about it.

Denise has remained firm in her decision to give the baby up for adoption so hopefully she follows through with it.

I've lost track of how many characters decide to go down the adoption route and then back out and I think Denise will want to keep the baby - either that or Phil will lay claim.

But don't they usually show the characters having doubts beforehand?

She will probably end up keeping it because its a soap but I don't see why.

Either that or support her over the adoption. I don't feel that anyone is on her side right now.

The trouble is they've made it Phil's baby, and Phil always wins even if they have to change the law, rewrite history or ruin every other character in the show.

Would fans accept a hasty retcon? Perhaps Denise made a mistake and the baby actually IS Kush's after all

You might be right. I hope so. There was that kiss between Denise and Kush last week, so perhaps SOC is keen to have Denise drop the sprog asap and get back with Kush

He seems too immature and selfish to accept that sort of responsibility to be honest. He'd need to undergo a personality transplant and become like Martin to be on a position to adopt someone else's child and even then I think it would only be a short term thing. Also an interfering mum wouldn't help in that sort of scenario.

I would but I don't think others would.

Hopefully.

Regardless of what happens with the baby, I think that Denise and Kush will get back together. The kiss was put there for a reason, even though it was Carmel who made them do it.

Davood said that there's more to come between Denise and Kush.

I would too. Denise can blame her lack of education for mixing up the dates (hence why she's attending night classes)

It's just a shame as I feel as if the baby is now in the way of what could've been a better storyline/couple pairing.

Lol.

Although they will have to explain why the baby is coming so early. Denise slept with Phil in April (I think) and she slept with Kush in August.

I don't mind too much because Denise and Kush will be revisited. There's a spoiler about the aftermath that gives me hope.

Predictably dramatic premature birth?

I do want them to go through with the adoption as it's so rare to see that on a soap and Diane will be simply amazing in the scenes. Be great to explore that.

Then I'd love Denise and Kush to get back together. He can support her decision whilst people like Carmel have a go at her! They are great as a couple and I'd like to ensure he has a bigger more secure role.

I agree with all of that.

Denise really doesn't want the baby so it wouldn't be right for her to keep it.

I can't wait for Carmel's reaction, This could be the first time we see Carmel as a character really come out of her shell.

She's going to be so annoyed, but I think that Kush will be able to talk her round eventually. At least she likes Denise.

Bit odd, Would make a great Jeremy Kyle story-line. "My son is dating my best friend and pretending to be the dad of a thugs child"

Lol it would.

There's no reason for Carmel to be annoyed. They are both proper adults.

I think that Denise will end up keeping the baby despite her having no interest in the baby.
