And the main highlight from day 1?

Ricky Evans's 2.16-second 180 against Michael Smith - although Mark Frost's state of extreme drunkenness against Gary Anderson ran it a close second.

They said that Parry was the oldest man in the tournament. What about a certain P Taylor ? He is a few years older.

Have to say I wouldn't mind seeing more of Jerry Hendiks on the PDC scene in the future.

It might seem a strange thing to say after a 3-0 defeat but I thought he showed good signs of potential at times in that match - and he plays the game in the right spirit as well.

Yeah, impressed with Hendriks. Had a bit of fun but was never unprofessional unlike the excruciating 'performance' from Frost the night before.

Good opening workout for Wright as well -needed his wits about him but was never in any danger of losing.

That was great when Hendriks danced with Wright after the game

I'm not a fan of Price either but I thought he would have progressed more by now he seems to be at his peak of what he will achieve which is not much.

Doubling aside, Shah and Chino are providing visible evidence right now of how much the standard of the prelims has increased up to this point.

Shah wins and could well give Benito van de Pas a bit of a game later.

What do you all think of Dudbridge? I think he's a bit dull he doesn't have that edge to his voice like the rest of them, well you know.

Was just about to post about Dudbridge. Not enjoying his commentary so far but it is early doors for him so hopefully he will settle into it as time goes by.

Well, he's appeared at the two previous Worlds - but I don't recall him playing in glasses that make him look like a darting Mark Pougatch.

Evening Session (7pm)
Ross Snook v Kim Viljanen (P)
Cristo Reyes (32) v Dimitri Van den Bergh
Stephen Bunting (16) v Darren Webster
Michael van Gerwen (1) v Snook/Viljanen

Christo Reyes isn't too bad , he's consistent I feel , however DVDB is doing well , he's not as good as Cristo Reyes perhaps but who can tell , it's far to early to tell who's the better of the two
Stephen bunting I feel is better than Darren Webster . Darren is ok , Stephen is better
MVG ?!?! Goes without saying really when it comes to playing those two
