Bunting looked the real deal when he first moved to the PDC but it looks like his heads gone a bit and he can't finish games off.
He's got the talent and is plenty young enough to come back but he could just as easily be another Mark Webster and fade away to the periphery.

Didn't mind him losing last night though- I really like Darren Webster.

I can't ever see Bunting making the top 10 again.

Bunting was one of those players the PL broke same as Webster and Huybrechts. Surprising the amount of players who seem to enter a slump afterwards.

There are many names who got into the top 10 and have now drifted away so quickly.

Paul Nicholson and Colin Osborne both won majors now they are ranked lower than me

Alan Tabern, Mark Walsh, Andy Jenkins, Andy Hamilton - players who had a good couple of years or so then virtually vanished.

Think it's safe to say that this afternoon's line up is solely for the purists with Mark Webster, Ian White and, most tellingly, Justin Pipe in action.

Nice to hear John Gwynne on commentary this afternoon.

Slightly sobering as well when you consider that he's the last member of the great Sky darts commentary trio who's still with us.

Indeed a rather grim lineup this afternoon! In fact all the games today don't look much cop.

Imagine Pipe is one of the few seeds in this round to be the outsider in his game.

The only thing worse than a Justin Pipe game is a Justin Pipe game where he's playing rubbish! Lets hope he actually has some form today!!

Very unlucky for Pipe he isn't playing as bad as he has been over recent years but he's run into probably the most dangerous 'floater' in the whole draw.

I wonder whether Pipe's extra experience might tell in this match now.

Doesn't look like it at the moment though...

Yes although I do like all of the team Pike Mardle Harrington Studd and Part, I'm not feeling Dudbridge at all though he seems a good lad but just a bit annoying for me.

Dobey does it!

He blew two winning opportunities but not the third.

That match will do absolute wonders for Chris Dobey's experience and darting education.

Have to say that was an unexpectedly engrossing game, all told.

Finally crawled over the line.

Surely the last time we see Pipe here?

Dudbridge will get there I am sure, he still sounds like he is finding his feet

Not a fan of Mardle at all. Very average player and a worse commentator, full of his daft phrases like "oh hello". As for Rodney, well he is to commentary what Justin Pipe is to speed. Rate Part, Studd, Pearson and Pike a lot but ITV4 commentary much better for me.

Yes I understand Mardle is a mixed bag as a commentator, I do think he was very capable as a player on his day and a great watch I loved watching him, 5 world semis I think it is? not bad.

Nonsense from Murnan there, 110 finish, hit the T20 but missed the big 10.

Cost him the set.

And Webster wins in straight sets after a clinical display of finishing, if not scoring.

We will have to disagree on that one. He was a real bottler, hence he never won anything. His greatest ever chance was when he bottled it against Kirk Shepherd in the Worlds semi finals. He has a shocking PL record too, only got in because of his walk on I feel.

Now that is the way to earn yourself a match against Phil Taylor.

A 156 finish wins it for David Platt.

Alan Norris has got a match on his hands here against John Michael if that first set is anything to go by.

And that bull finish at the start of the second set.
