Incredible, MVG is the Champion! What a performance, 115 average last night and now 108+ in the final. The guy is just phenomenal!
If anyone deserves to be a double world champion... It's Michael Van Gerwen. |

Barry Hearn no doubt eyeing the Head of Security as he makes his way up onto the stage.

but in reality his matches were probably tougher! He had Reyes & Barney play the match of their lives against him. |

MvG says all the right things and speaks in the classy manner a champion should speak.
If only it was somehow possible to make a match-up between MvG and early 2000s Taylor. MvG would win but I'd still like to see it. |

![]() Don't be so ridiculous. There ain't a bloke walking the earth who could have beat him this fortnight don't matter who he drew!Cristo Reyes, Barney and Ando all threw 100+ against him and none got within 2 sets. |

Only thing he didn't win I think was the first BBC Champions League. Don't be surprised if he wins that later this year

In the last 16 he was scheduled to meet the 16th seed but he was knocked out by Darren Webster In the quarters he was scheduled to meet the 8th seed but he was knocked out by Mark Webster In the semi finals he was scheduled to meet the 4th seed but he was knocked out by Barney He was scheduled to meet - Reyes, Bunting, Suljovic and Taylor. He didn't do bad. If you think winning the matches he did in the style he did was lucky then you don't watch much darts. |

World Champion and World Number One, he is the best right now no question! Great final, Gary didnt play badly just was beaten by someone playing insane darts!
Nice interviews from both at the end. I noticed Mvg, didnt wait for the end of the announcement before he moved for the trophy, wanted to make sure no one else nicked it! |

Old Philip sitting at home gently sobbing, watching Bazza cuddling up to Van Gerwen on the stage.
