MvG says all the right things and speaks in the classy manner a champion should speak.

If only it was somehow possible to make a match-up between MvG and early 2000s Taylor.

MvG would win but I'd still like to see it.
Not so sure. I think I would back Taylor. He could bully his opponents at his peak. Average of 111 in one final too

Is it possible that Van Gerwen can win more World titles than Phil Tayllor

Unbelievable darts, simply astonishing that a person can play such high level darts like that.

This is the match to show to put an end to the is it a sport or not people!

Congratulations to MvG, but Gary can also take great pride in the fact that it took such a standard to take the trophy away from him.

Is it true that Suljovic has turned down a premier league spot?

True, but I'm not sure he would get into a position to bully MvG with the way the Dutchman takes control in the heart of matches.

Besides, who ever produced even close to the standard against Taylor back then that MvG is doing now?

No because of the standard by other players is so high now it's to difficult, I say if he can get 8 he would be classed the greatest for me, what do you guys think?

MVG likes fast players, Taylor isn't quick and we aren't talking about the Taylor or now, we are talking the Taylor who scored 180s and 177's for fun and his finishing was sublime. I think that would worry MVG. Sadly we will never know.

They all tried to beat Taylor in his best years and failed so would MVg one good year is hardly going to make him a legend, I'm so glad I didn't watch this year.

"We have to go with James Wade", says Barry Hearn.

Not the most ringing endorsement!

Do me a favour, Rod, no way was Corey Cadby going to get a wildcard in this fledgling phase in his career.

Klaasen and Huybrechts chosen partially with an eye on the continental market?

Nonsense the greatest will always be the one who's won the most in any sport anything less they can't be the greatest simple as that.

It's more than the World Snooker Champion will get with his title.

Nah doesn't work like that for me and I guess others.

In Snooker Hendry is no longer the greatest even pundits have said so and others say he is, it's just a personal preference going off world titles ability and records.

Cadby needs to lay off the lard butties.
