Marvellous 156 finish from Barney there.

And that Shanghai wasn't too bad either

There's the first 170 finish of the championship - Simon Whitlock

And he takes out 158 in the very next leg to win the match!

Vintage Whitlock finishing.

Anyone watching the replays during the day instead? since there is so much to watch at night I'll watch the 1pm highlights to pass the day.

And why would Eric go to the BDO he thinks it's a Micky Mouse event? very interesting, he must be skint?

Wayne Mardle saying that Taylor has dropped below Wade in rankings provisionally because he plays fewer events. Whilst that may be partly true, it's also because Wade is more consistent nowadays than Taylor. Mardle can't seem to accept that Taylor is not as good anymore as he used to be.

Stroll on the second round starting and some more competitive matches. Last couple of nights have been dreadful.

Definition of a dull nights arras tonight!

Getting to the point of the first round I usually get to where I'm just 'lets get this over with and start the proper tournament!'

Should be a better night tomorrow with Huybrechts v Wilson looking particularly tasty.
Klaasen and Chisnall playing as well.

Having just caught up on last night's action, I think it's safe to say that I picked the right night to miss.

He's still better than Wade, and I'd back him to beat him in a head to head.

VVDV V Hopp this one looks ripe for a seed going out to me. Vincent hasn't been on form for a long time, I don't think Hopp is that brilliant but he's got a real chance of winning tonight.

Vincent's started well here.

Hasn't quite continued in that vein, though.

Yeah you're probably right but my point is that Wayne Mardle goes on about him as if he's the best in the world still.

Rowby-John Rodriguez takes Chisnall to a deserved deciding set

And it's one Chisnall could easily lose if he continues to finish as poorly as he's done so far.

No he surely won't, his class is telling now... and Chisnall has won!

Magnificent set from Chisnall there, two big finishes and an 11 darter to close it out.

Another seed could be on the chopping block here. Jammy Dodger is well capable of knocking off Huybrechts.

It's like that for many of them like Dobey v Chizzy and I think Cullen will win if Lewis turns up like he has been doing all year.

Smith v King looks the most promising of this afternoon's matches to me.

Sad postscript from last night; Vincent van der Voort said in an interview after his defeat that he may have to retire because his back problems are so pronounced and enduring that he cannot throw darts comfortably anymore.
