Would be more interesting if their opponents could raise themselves to give them at least a semblance of a challenge.
Besides, I don't think anybody held out much hope for Painter being competitive and I don't think anybody does for Reyes against MvG, so the fingers really need to be pointed at Alan Norris and the way he rolled over against Barney on that front. |

Yeah it was Norris I meant- really expected him to give RVB a decent game tonight.
He was woeful. |

To be honest we could do with a big upset this championship we haven't had one yet! (this game's not going to be it!!)
Still got 13 of the top 16 seeds in. The 2 Websters wins and Gurney beating Thorn are the only ones you could class as an upset so far but even they're not shocking results. |

Hmm, Reyes isn't doing too badly in these early stages.
Quality set there to make it 1-1. |

Cristos doing the job Norris and Painter should have been doing, raising his game to give their opponent something to think about.

Reyes is having a pop here, but that double 5 was incredible.

This is by far the finest performance of Cristo Reyes' career so far and all it's earned him is a two set deficit.
What that also means, though, is that this is a quite sensational performance from MvG. |

He can leave tonight with his head held high though, he stood up to MVG and made him up his game and knows he couldn't have played better.
No one in the world would beat MVG tonight.

Looking like a deciding set - but it's not!
MvG wins the match of the tournament! Reyes averaged 106.07 to MvG's 105.24 and lost 4-2. Extraordinary performance from Reyes and one I didn't think he was capable of, frankly. Both averages are the highest of the tournament - and Reyes' average is the highest losing average ever recorded in the Worlds. Unbelievable stuff. |

MVG wins 4-2 but that doesn't tell half the story!
Hats off Cristo Reyes you played your bloody heart out there! |

Honestly think if Reyes had played that game against literally anyone else he'd have won!
