Audio Chromecast through Surround sound
Hi all
Sorry for the newb question but I have recently purchased an Audio Chromecast and have it connected to my Samsung surround sound in order to play Google Music via my tablet. It all connects and plays the music ok, however the music only comes out of the front two speakers. Am I doing something wrong on my set up or could it be something else that it is preventing the full surround sound system from being used. Thanks in advance. Steve |

Press the 'DSP' button until you get the sound in virtual 7.1 mode.
This is covered in your user manual under Sound Mode |

The Chromecast Audio device looks like it is stereo only, as is the music you are probably playing over it. It is entirely likely that the default action for the Samsung system is to play stereo source material on the front speakers only.
That would be the technically correct method of playing stereo audio and is in no way a fault in the system or anything you are doing. If however you must have noise out of every speaker then the Samsung may have an option like Dolby ProLogic (may be abbreviated to DPL, DPLII or similar) which can create a psuedo surround effect from a stereo source. |

Thanks to all for the advice and help - it looks like the AV was not on the correct setting - which I had stupidly forgotten to double check.
After changing it - all now appears sorted. Thanks again - love these forums! Woody |
