Can't insert images here and a link to a subscription site usually gets complaints. I just quoted the reference so if anyone was particularly interested then they could look it up themselves otherwise make people aware that there was a portable radio camera available in 1957.

I think it was actually customized by BBC engineers (as they used to do in those days) and used extensively on sporting events.Then there was the more ambitious roving eye, introduced in 1954, a camera mounted on a fast-moving estate car or van and fed back by microwave to a receiving point, which was particularly useful at horse racing meetings.The same basic technology is in use today.
