The Metro have accidentally leaked Linda's exit by writing an article about it as if the episode has aired. This isnt the first time that they've done this... Judging by cast lists it seems as though the article was meant to be posted after next Monday's episode

Spoiler
Linda receives news that Elaine has had a stroke in Spain so leaves Walford for her.

One of the spoilers for Christmas Eve is "Linda receives some devastating news.", so I guess she goes then. She is credited for Christmas Day, but she could appear via skype like Vincent and Kim.

Given the strike announced today, I wonder if they will insert a scene saying she is stuck at the airport

I wonder if they will kill Elaine off?

Would of been more interesting if it tied in with Lee's exit but guess they want a easy, fuss free exit meaning she can return.

I think she will find out the news on Monday, but after thinking will leave on Christmas/Sunday.

It says in the article that Linda has left in the episode just shown so I would say the article was meant to go up after xmas eves episode

Weird. The Metro have accidentally posted articles before episodes in the past have aired but never taken them down.

Before the episodes aired they had one talking about how Jack got in a car with a mystery woman (who turned out to be his french best friend) and recently one about Kim telling her mum that Denise was pregnant (which was aired a week later)

Also in the BBC Xmas trailer the Carters all surround a laptop and say Happy Christmas so Linda will probably be seen on webcam

They were never going to give a woman as heavily pregnant as Kellie so obviously is some huge dramatic storyline.

It's only a temporary departure and Mick and Linda are a 'for keeps' couple. So I'm not quite sure what you were expecting.

In fact whenever Linda's exit has come up on here the most common suggestion has been that she'd go off to deal with some matter involving Elaine.

Agreed but it IS boring. I just hope Elaine is killed off at the end of it. In fact I hope Linda is killed off too. She is a boring character and drags Mick down.

Linda is one of my favourite ever characters on the show. Kellie is a fantastic actress and I will really miss her when she is on maternity leave.

Not really a huge surprise, most of us expected it'd be something like this.

I'm glad they're not making a big deal of it. I bought it might have been Nancy that was I'll, but Elaine will do nicely. It's going to be interesting seeing Mick on his own because they've been inseparable since they arrived. Time to put Shirley in the Vic full time...I'll be cross if they don't.

Spoiler
Fans felt for Linda as she was given the news that Elaine has had a stroke in Spain.

the way that article was written shows it was definitely meant to be added after it aired

Exacty.

An only child needing to look after their widowed parent when sick is a realistic reason for somebody going away (my mother mived to my Granddads when he had a fall and couldn't look after himsekf, albeit that was for a few weeks rather than months) so it was always the likliest way to write her out.

Boring it might be but it is believable and Id rather a believable reason given fir her absence than making a big deal out of it.

but how can they justify her perhaps staying in Spain for six months ? hope her mum has a good travel insurance ! they've had well over six months to concoct some believable story !!!

if the Spain story is true, it's like they just worked it out a few weeks ago, because they'd forgotten all about it, like they seem to have forgotten about Billy's money being stolen (unless something happens in connection with the burglary, like a set of office keys being stolen too, so they think "their" burglar nicked the money.

Of course it's the most mundane and ill thought out exit possible. What else could we expect at this point?

What would be more plausible would be Linda finally seeing Mick for the deeply stupid, arrogant, violent, terminally thick, convicted sex offender that he is, and getting out of there. Away from him, away from horrible Lee and shit Johnny, and all of Mick's assorted family and their problems.

Thanks.
