If you had a time machine: what would you go back and find the truth about?

Bury treefr0g under a heap of manure.

And then go back and dig out the almanac. It's not theft if you 'discover' it like that. And manure is completely ethical so I can be obnoxiously self-righteous about my green credentials when collecting the winnings from my super-nutso extended accumulator that finally destroys the gambling industry.

For the 'observation only' part, I'd probably start with seeing whether the pyramids and stonehenge were built the way people think, and then after that go and see what happened in times and places where I was there and don't quite have a complete recollection of events and hope for merely a rather than a

These would definitely have to be a one-way view into the past though (as per the film Deja Vu) or we would e.g. be the reason for stonehenge to be built at the place the natives saw the glow.

Deja Vu was a great film. I love most Denzel Washington's films.

Because 3000 AD is more or less as far in the future as 1066 AD is in the past, and look how society and civilization here in Britain has change since the Norman invasion of 1066 AD.

Henry XIII will be in the future. Henry VIII was the Monarch with the issue problem.

I had assumed it was an alternate or extended timeline as the previous mention had been of Henry XII so it just seemed a logical progression...

Henry XIII would be Henry the Thirteenth. Quite some way down the line, given we've got Charles the Third, William the Fifth and Henry the Ninth, in that order, to go yet.

Sad that you have sat there and worked that all out, but well done!

"Charles the Third" May not happen as we don't know what name he may pick for himself on accession. Apparently like Prince Henry, you can choose whatever name you want. So Charles may be King Gadget-Pants the First if he wants to be. Also as men live less time than women he may have a heart attack before the Queen and so mess up the whole thing.

William the fifth is on the cards as he is the first born and if he keeps that name but Henry the ninth will never get there as William the fifth's offspring come first.

I meant George the Fifth. Got mixed up as to what they called William's son, as I take so little interest and see or read almost nothing about him.

You mean George VII (or George VIII if Charles decides to be George VII).

I wasn't aware that the formation of the Pacific Basin was part of that theory. I thought that the giant impact would have turned the entire surface of the Earth into an ocean of magma, and the Pacific Ocean wasn't formed for another 4 billion years, give or take a few millenia.
