Why didn't they go abroad this season?
Isn't there usually an episode when they go overseas? Thinking of the Big Dawg soft drink in New York and buying a tiny flag in Dubai.

Same reason they don't do the television advertising task anymore.
Or get good treats. The show has clearly been cutting back on splashing out cash. Shame really, I quite enjoy the tasks where they're abroad/on TV. |

Going abroad is dodgy? I'm sure the candidates wouldn't be flown to Syria. The £250,000 is an investment by Lord Sugar, not prize money, so that makes no difference

I'd've liked to see them go to somewhere scenic like Icemeler in Turkey and compete to sell boat trips to tourists.

A trip abroad is not required as it's suppose to be a competition to find a business partner not someone who enjoys a jolly, they should also consider dropping any task that involves alcohol as they tend to turn into an alkies free-for-all.

Selling freezers. That would sort out the men from the boys.

Theres probably a lot of paperwork to be sorted out such as passports and relevant visas along with having to meet the local laws on business so not everywhere may be suitable and then theres also getting people from the production team who speak the local language to sort of permissions for filming etc.
Plus you could add a day either side of the task for travel time and extra hotel cost and it could easily be an expensive task. |

You are assuming they have to pay for the treats. If I was approached to supply a treat to be broadcast to 6m viewers I think i'd quite happily supply it for free.

Which episode was it when they got that as a treat?
![]() They've never had anything so rich obviously but if companies are willing to give stuff away for free then why shouldn't the production company try and get as much as possible for as little as possible

Come to think about it, I don't think they really ventured out of the South East this year, did they? Brighton for the sweets and Poole for the boatshow. Even the selling in an upmarket store was in London. I suppose they did at least have their first Welsh winner - a small consolation for the provinces!

It was the buying task that was most suited to travelling abroad, especially to a country where haggling is the norm.
Trying to present UK products to French buyers was a lottery as to which team had the best French speakers. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ap...#Week_8:_Paris You also had the issue of Melody giving bogus customer feedback about which products to choose, as the other candidate showing the products to the French public did not speak French. She had no idea Melody was lying about the lamp she wanted to sell - when the public all preferred the baby carrier (I think that was what it was) |

It would be cheap enough to fly them out mid week to somewhere safe like Corfu, get them to maybe put on a night at rival bars. Great scenery, lots of opps for bikini posturing for The Prodigal Fox and Frances.
