Now that tonight's show's over, I can go back and watch it properly.

I honestly think now that the beginning dances matter the most in terms of the votes.

I power voted for Ore in the first two rounds as he easily beat Louise / Danny.

Danny's showdance was ruined by the mirror choreography which I did not get. He did not need that.

When Danny wowed me with the Samba I think it was too late in terms of reaching him in the vote.

The best dancer won it on the night. That cannot be denied. Congratulations Ore and Joanne.

What a great series - the standard has been so high.

And thanks to everyone on the forum - see you all next year!

Danny was great. Louise was lovely.

It's been a WONDERFUL series and a FABULOUS final.

And for a die hard Ore fan the board has been very hard, so thank you.

Bugger, I appear to have delivered an Oscar acceptance speech.

Never mind.”

So pleased for you and Ore! Had your work cut out defending him!

Well until the first three black celebrities get voted off again. Then they will say the same thing like they did this year

Oh and well done on reaching your milestone

The judge's choice was a bit random for Louise; they should have given her ballroom (maybe the Viennese Waltz or the Foxtrot) where she'd have an actual chance to show off her strengths.

I'm not sure who chose the Showdance music but that didn't make the most of her skills either.

I also predicted that we could have out first black Strictly winner this year as soon as Ore was announced. and, as a fellow Nigerian, I'm so happy he did it.

Didn't previously like Jo but she and Oti have been standout choreographers this year so very well done to her...especially as she was so gracious in sitting out last year. Proof that all good things come to those who wait!”

What about Alesha?

Ore had three good dances, but may have pipped it on the showdance by not doing a faffy contemporary style dance

I didn't realise that was going to be my 1000th message. Thanks.

For many votes, none of the dances matter. (They didn't make any difference to how I voted, for instance.)

But also many people will vote soon after the voting opens, which tonight meant the at most only one of tonight's dances influenced their decision.

me neither, but its evident what a great family they all become so I'm loving the 'teammanship' loved tonight. All 3 deserving finalists and a great outcome. Danny was my favourite but Ore was fantastic too, and the public vote wins so well done, and nice to see Joanne Clifton grab the trophy that,s a first !!
I,m just really happy

Well done Ore but I didn't really love the showdance, not as good as the AS and a little too similar for me. His Jive however blew me away again.

Louise lovely AT, Cha Cha needed more oomph but of all the showdances hers moved me more than any. Absolutely beautiful but then I love contemporary with a bit of ballroom thrown in.

Danny overall best dancer imo, not sure how he didn't win it.

Loved all the dancing, best final ever.

She's mixed race, and so her win wasn't enough. (That's how the discussion went.)

Wonderful show and fabulous winner. I really didn't expect that result. I've loved all of this years celebrities... so lovely seeing them all again.

Bye Len.😢

It fits the pattern of recent years. The public vote follows the judges - except when it feels that a Denise or Natalie is too experienced or it takes a dislike to someone . Most reality audiences also fall for whatever storyline the producers push - and they have been pushing Ore's journey repeatedly for weeks. Danny is clearly very qualified, Louise didn't have a journey story and didn't hit great peaks of being spectacular or emotionally moving , and Ore has been hyped for weeks, had his path to the final cleared for him, had the journey story given him, and been given most marks on the night.

They could have easily substituted Ore and Louise - and built similar stories and claims for Daisy, Laura or Claudia , and had Balls or Rinder there for more fun , if they had wanted to.

So glad i decided to boycott watching the final live..the clips and the comments on facebook were far more entertaining than the show which has sadly lost its shine.
i agree with previous poster Danny is the best dancer never to have won Strictly, and the final was lacklustre without Claudia.”

I would add Colin Jackson to that.

Loved Danny and Oti all the way through but Ore and Joanne were terrific tonight.

Great night's entertainment.

Thank you darling.

It's been WORTH it though.

(And I really liked Claudia, shame she wasn't in the final).

I always vote on performance for the finale night.

Ore earned my votes.

Danny disappointed during the first half. Like Natalie Gumede against Abbey.

She didn't count enough for some of the arguments that were being made.
