The two best selling Newspapers in the UK people hammer them then the same people still read what they print. You could not make it up.

I glance at the DM but have not read a word of the The Sun since 1996 either the paper version or online version - don't click on Sun links either

The two best selling papers with the most form for making stuff up.

The way it works is like this-

Newspaper phones up, and asks you for an interview.

You say 'I;m too busy right now' or, worse still, give an interview to a rival.

Paper makes up something nasty from 'unatributed sources' to teach you, and others, to agree to an interview next time they phone.

I am hoping the Kevin/ Joanne perceived rivalry might split the vote leaving Danny ahead of the posse

Not anymore - the DM don't care, they write unflattering things about pretty much anyone. Negativity seems to create more readership for them, at least in terms of showbiz.

You'll note that Jo is quoted in the article, and yet they still call her 'brusque' and claim she does not get on with Natalie.

The Showbiz writer who wrote this article is the same one who has been writing some very unflattering stuff about Megan Markle, Prince Harry's girlfriend. Oh, and she also wrote that ridiculous 'Strictly Bitchy' article from a while ago:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-3883710/ALISON-BOSHOFF-Feuding-blondes-flouncing-judges-Ed-No-Mates-Balls-disliked-stars-refuse-socialise-Yes-welcome-Strictly-bitchy.html

Took a couple of teeny grains of truth and then added in a lot of lies. Pretty standard!

Nasty article about his "pushy parents"!!!! Fact is, it was obvious that Kevin was overjoyed when he realised his sister had made the final and that was before he knew he and Louise, his partner were in. Obviously a great deal of love and affection between the two of them. Not many English pro dancers in SCD and the media have to attack the English ones!! Bizarre. I hope Oti and Ora win as I think they are a great couple but I do like Kevin and I do not know where all the dislike comes from!!

Is this one of the worse years for made up newspaper stories? The papers seem to be making up any old rubbish about the head judge recruitment whenever feel short of an article.

I'd much rather that a celeb won on their own merits (which Danny is capable of doing) rather than because of a vote for or against certain pros).

I find it funny the people who say "Well, I know it's the Daily Mail BUT..."

But what, mate? I can't believe that people haven't cottoned on by now that the Mail acts on a diet of hidden agenda and lies.

Brother and sister in an exceptionally competitive discipline to appear in a final. Where's the story?

Ooh, what can't be proved, we'll just use poetic licence. This story is just so much let's fill a page.

Who cares?

So this is how TPTB ensure a Kev win!!!!

I do agree with your post though.

I know both the show and parts of the media are trying to push the brother-sister rivalry angle but is anyone actually approaching the final in that way? Cos I'm not.

I'd say the final narrative was more along the lines of "Cliftons vs Non-Clifton" or "Ringers vs the Novice" or even "Louise vs the Boys" but not the sibling thing.

Ah, when I said on their own merits, I didn't necessarily mean dancing ability. I meant simply that viewers should think that the celeb deserved it (for whatever reason, dance ability, entertainment value, engaging journey) rather than be voting for or against their pro partner.

There's a much nicer, more balanced article in the Times. I don't suppose anyone wants to discuss that?...........No, I thought not!

similar article in the mirror last week..ignoring the others and saying the cliftons are both desperate to win...even against each other.

The article is just the normal DM garbage, "extensively researched" using Twitter, Google and the DS SCD forum. I'm on record as not being a Clifton fan, but I'm pi$$ed off on their behalf that trash like this can be published about them.
