Some have seen this live of course but this has been discussed on here before and at the time ( and perhaps even now) was seen to be very controversial.

Slightly related to this topic, it may of interest, but the move in Gangnam Style where Ed moves in and Katya dives through his legs and hangs on, then kicks....this variation I have seen quite a few times with other competitors, even Neil and Katya had this same move in their competitive jive a while back.

I'm fiercely in the camp of bad taste, no matter what people say to defend them.

Maybe one day in hindsight they can see that it was a bad decision...

Not really sure what to make of that.

'Controversial' is certainly the word to use.

I so wish someone had run on with a hat pin. Were they really 20 X World Champions or was that hyperbole for the act.

Haha, that would have been funny ! They have been World Amateur Champions, but not World Professional Champions.

I suspect that, as usual, the ones with weight problems would find it funny but the people complaining are doing so because they think someone else might be offended i.e. professional complainers. The best example I saw was years ago when someone had done a joke or sketch about people in wheelchairs having sex, there were all the usual complaints (from the usual people) but Radio 4's "Does He Take Sugar" did an item on it and had loads of letters from people in wheelchairs who all found it hilarious.

A bit tasteless, but it was a good performance!

Twenty times though. Surely that woudl mean they had to win for the first time when they were at primary school.

That year there were several couples and groups wearing fat and muscle suits. Roman soldiers and gladiators were also part of the festivities. Assen always has a great party atmosphere and this was part of it. This wasn't to mock obese people, this was just a bit of fun. Take a look at other videos from the same festival and see what I mean.

This showdance was absolutely pilloried within the dance world and Neil himself said that he didn't realise there would be such a backlash and that he regretted it greatly.
It was in extremely bad taste - in not only mine but the complete dancing world's opinion!
