Three 'inTouch' wifi calling query
Hi,
I've just downloaded and setup the Three inTouch wifi calling app on my iPhone 6S as next week for Xmas I'm off to somewhere with no mobile coverage, but does have broadband/wifi. However, the app seems to have taken over ALL incoming calls/txt when I'm on wifi - even when I have strong mobile signal. Is that supposed to happen? I thought it was meant to only act as a 'backup' when you DON'T have mobile. My txt messages for example, are now sometimes going into the app and sometimes going into the correct iPhone messages app. Is there a setting somewhere that's I'm supposed to set to only 'fall-back' to wifi when mobile signal isn't available? Or do I need to turn off wifi coverage now unless I specifically don't have mobile signal? I'd really wish Three had gone the same route as EE and just activated native wifi calling in the handset rather than needing the app... |

Open app. Tap bottom right hand corner (3 lines). Then select option. Deselect Enable messaging. This will stop the app stealing your text messages. Go back. Select Hotspots for in touch. You can then select which WiFi networks it will work on. So if you are at home on a strong mobile signal the app wont override it.

iOS devices will soon have native Wifi Calling on Three anyway so just a temporary stop gap. They've rolled it out on 3 Android devices so far.

Three do not mention anywhere if you can switch between wifi calling and signal when it is available and you are out of wifi range then what happens? The call drops? EE do 4G-WIFI Calling-4G

I am surprised they started on Android (even if only 3!!!) for native WiFi calling. It's so solid on IOS that many other networks have started there.

Oh - I didn't realise that Three actually are working on rolling out 'proper' native Wifi calling.
Their website lists iPhone 7 - hopefully they'll also include already iPhone 6's though. |
