Father Ted on (or not) More 4 this week
tim123
17-12-2016
According to all the listing mags and, up until yesterday's EPG, Father Ted was to be on M4 in the wee small hours, every day next week.

And now, in the same timeslots, the EPG is showing Man Down in that slot, with a much smaller number of episodes of FT on C4.

What's going on here? Which details can I rely on, and why make such a change at the last minute anyway?

I've never actually watched the complete series of FT so was hoping that I the number of times that they were showing it would mean that I could catch up with it all (Yes I know it's all available on 4OD, but with my set-up I prefer to watch my TV "live-recorded")

(BTW is this the right place to post such a query?)

I think there's only about 25 episodes, on a constant endless repeating loop for last 20 years. But still very watchable ......

Perhaps the tapes have finally worn out?

You can get the boxset for £15, or watch the show on 4OD.

Probably an ecumenical matter.

I hope they will have the Christmas special on either Channel 4 or More4 this week.

Shame there was only 1 christmas special, but it was briliant ! catholic priests, trapped in the ladies' underware section of a department store, unable to escape. And replacing mrs Doyle with a drinks vending machine ,......

Apparently "Down with this sort of thing" and "Careful now" regularly turn up on placards and banners at all sorts of protests in Ireland

It's on Channel 4 this Thursday (22nd) at 12.10am.

Then More4 on Christmas Day (9pm), Wed 28th (10pm) and Thu 29th (11.05pm).

"That gobshite again! Is he never off the air?!"

There was a rerun of the first ever episode last week and it was still as funny as when I first saw it all those years ago but for me "Kicking Bishop Brennan up the Arse" has to be the ultimate!

00:10 sounds like a late or record one.
