The gift I remember was in the 80s and i had all sorts of wonderful gifts, but my favourite was a pair of fingerless neon green gloves. I wouldn't taken them off all day and even wore then to a neighbours house who was hosting drinks Christmas Day morning. I loved those gloves and wore them till they fell off. I think I was about 9yrs old at the time.

My brother had one too but not until 20 years later. We used it for road surfing with the addition of a skipping rope and roller skates. I still have the scars from the holes in my knees as testimony to at least one of our 'surfing' accidents.

The year I got an electric keyboard AND a Scalextric the size of a door. I know it was a size of a door because at some point in January my dad produced a door for me to keep it on.

The year I got a blackboard easel with a message written from Santa. Freaked me right out.

The year I asked for a play post office and got it and for a brown and cream typewriter. Complete surprise and I was over the moon.

The year I pouted and huffed because my best friend got to wear his Superman costume and I had to wear a purple velvet dress with cerise bow.

There are many photos of me looking mutinous. I'd never stand for that brattish behaviour from my kids. Not sure what my folks were thinking - they should have given me a slap.

Sitting on my Mum and Dads bed showing them this new steam train Father Christmas had given me. It was big and was had great lights and noise effects as well as the piston driven wheels went round and round. I think I was three and 8 months old for that lovely Christmas.
