Worst finale so far?
So, in the final 5 we had only people with terrible business plans. Grainne (I cant spell her name) wanted another make up business that did everything and wasn't even certified. Jessica couldn't say one coherent string of sentences during the interviews and her business plan consisted of handing out wads of cash to second-rate celebrities. Why was she even there?
All Alanna wants is a cake business that is not saleable. In the end we are going to end up with Courtney, whose business is producing the lamest junk I've seen in a long time. His automaton attitude and 'bang on trend' website is just depressing to look at. I can't believe that out of all the applicants; this is the lot the show runners came up with?? Unfortunately, it seems to me quite a few of the women this year were just along for the ride because of eye candy. |

Alana absolutely deserves to be there. Even if you don't think her business plan is scaleable the fact she has the profit margins she does clearly means something, and if we just focus on her task demeanour (which we really should be doing but once again we're now all about business plans and forgetting the last 10 weeks), then she would absolutely walk this based on that alone.
But I agree with the others, they have not only been simultaenously piss poor, but incredibly dull to boot. It's not even "They're so bad it's entertaining" anymore, it's just straight up "Jaysus this is awful make it stop" |

They're all really terrible, Alana is just about the only competent one.
That said I've really enjoyed this series. |

Agree with the OP. Out of curiosity, does anyone have a link to Courtney's website? I need cheering up

Courtney isn't just the worst finalist ever - he has been a complete non-entity for the entire series and a prime candidate for most boring candidate ever to grace our screens.
But then I don't reckon Alanna much either. I don't think I'll bother. |

Nah. I would say this years final two set is about average. Last years was the worst with one 'okay' idea and one completely terrible and un-salvageable idea

Alana ticks some of those boxes. But Courtney has not only been incredibly boring but so far as I can make out was neither use nor ornament on any of his many wins, including his stint as a nominal manager. |

I agree. No matter how dull Courtney is, I can at least invest in him and Alana more than Joseph and Vana last season. The show was pretty fixed in Joseph's favour last season

They're all terrible. But realistically, business people with good business plans don't want a investment that would give someone (in this case, Alan Sugar) half ownership of their companies. They'd go to a bank for a loan and retain 100% ownership of their company.
The people who go on this show are not serious entrepreneurs. They just want a foot in the door as a media personality. Jessica and Karthick are perfect examples. |

Alana wants to expand - and for that she probably needs to rent a a kitchen and to take on chefs , while she gets out and finds some more custom. He takes on that risk, she concentrates on selling. if she sells 6 or 7 times as much, she's matching all his other winner's annual profits. Which means she's making 3 times as much as now. and he makes his money back in about 2 years. and then gets a 50% return for money he already has back. Her problem is that he seems to prefer services, or employing cheap vhinese labour to deal with production, rather than invest in a big oven and making something good, here, himself. |

Kind of reminds me of the cr@p a five year old would buy if they ruled the world for a couple of hours.

Saying Alana and Courteney are terrible is harsh imo. For me, this year's finalists are a lot stronger than last year's.

The trick will be to reduce wastage etc to maximize profit |
