New VM Deal
I got a letter from VM today with a new offer.
Full House Movies Limited Edition bundle: - Top TV package - Sky Cinema - 200Mb Broadband - Talk Weekends Total price (inc line rental) of £39 per month guaranteed for 24 months. I'm tempted as i'm currently paying £23 for just broadband and for the sake of £16 mre I could get the BT channels plus a PVR. But as far as I can tell it's the original TIVO box and i'm very reluctant to go back to it. THoughts? Edit - My curiosity got the better of me and I rang up to ask about the TIVO box. At first he told me that it was the 'new TIVO box' but when I specifically said "is it the V6" he admitted that it wasn't. Actually he told me that it wasn't available at all. I noticed that the bundle is listed as £55 a month on the website - so this is actually a case where an existing customer deal is quite a bit better. I'm pretty sure i'm out with existing TIVO but i'll have a think. |

I took them up on this offer. I was paying £31 for broadband and line rental already (upto 50mb) , but I thought to get super fast broadband and all the channels for an extra £8 was too good to miss...
I can confirm it is not the v6 TiVo box. It's the Cisco TiVo. It's a little slow and loud. Never had one before, but the amount of channels is good. |

I upgraded to this offer and they've charged me £55 for it. I've been on the phone complaining since my letter says £39 however they are refusing to honour the deal saying the offer doesn't exist.
The only solution they will provide is for me to post the letter to them at my expense. |

This offer is just for customers that do not currently have tv from virgin.
I am totally angry about this, as a customer who gets all of this deal already but not sky cinema and the v6 box, and i pay £78 per month it is disgusting, i am now on phone to retentions. |

I phoned up about this deal as I don't have TV with VM and I'm outside my contract as well, I was told the offer at £39 is account specific, I asked if he could give me the offer, he put me on hold for five minutes, when he came back on he said he couldn't give me the deal at that price because my account hadn't been selected to have the deal, so the deal isn't down to not having TV with VM as some people claim, it's an account specific deal, these things happen.

This sums up one of the things I hate about Virgin. No consisitency with their pricing structure, lots of people on same packages but paying huge differences in price. Seems if you are going to shout a lot and make a fuss you will get a good deal. They rely on peoples apathy and they help fund those who shout the most.
Also picking and choosing which cust get good deals seems wrong as well. TBH at that price its a brilliant deal |
