Not only did Knopfler write the song, it's pretty much a complete rewrite of the earlier Dire Straits song "Love over Gold". Almost the same tune. Not Knopfler's most inspired moment. I remember being very disappointed when I heard Turner's version and thought "Hang on, haven't I heard that somewhere before?"
