Is the British Comedy Awards still a thing? It used to be on just before Christmas, so it probably would have been tonight.

I know Channel 4 dropped it and I don't think there was one last year (or there was but it wasn't televised) but I thought they had found a new TV home for 2016. What's the latest?

I think you can assume it to be dead or at least long term comatose. There has been no update of any kind since the C4 decision (6/15).

There's loads of decent comedy on right now and more stand-ups than possibly ever before.

As soon as we have a laugh on anything, the Daily Mail finds something or someone offended and then we are told we can't laugh at it.

The future of the Comedy Awards is as clear as the result of the 2.40 at Kempton Park this afternoon!

When Mrs browns boys, citizen khan and the porridge remake are considered comedy, I'm thankful the awards are scrapped
