Looks like we are going to be losing the MBC channels from Badr (26E) as they are moving transponders. The new transponders are tight beams into north Africa and the Middle east.

These beams cannot be received in the UK.

Damn that's bad news. I didn't watch them very often myself, but it was nice to have them.

I guess it was inevitable really, I've noticed there's not a lot worth looking at anymore on either 26E, 7.3W or 8W, as compared with a couple of years back.

Do you know anything for certain or are just assuming because they have added services on another tp/ beam.. MBC have several transponders & have opened and closed several over the years. . Badr 4 has years of life and cutting off London Arab reception might be an issue.

Agreed.. nice to have but I suppose there's far more satellites and channels up there now compared to when they launched the single channel MBC2 and we think Sky or Fox even put pressure on them then to move it away.. you could get it on an old 60cm sky dish until they obeyed and made it harder.

We'll see ..

the biss encryted test 3 version does not have the onscreen message , maybe that will stay.

I am getting signal blips on one of the new frequencies 12284V 27500 on my TD110 down south, so it might not be impossible to recieve. I should get it with a 1.2m dish.

That could be 12285V 27500 @28.2 I got signal blips, moving the dish manually just locked the astra 2f transponder though

Thats always a possibility. the focus should be tight with the dish but 28.2E is soo damn strong.
