We're talking anyone from N'Sync to One Direction. Who's your favourite?

I've had a real thing for the Backstreet Boys recently, but in general I love boybands. Most recent one was The Wanted.

I don't like any of the modern ones but I still listen to Nsync and Backstreet Boys. I saw BSB live in 2005 and I thought they were fantastic. I would love to see them again someday but if they are staying in Las Vegas for the foreseeable future it's not likely.

Ah, is that how we're defining it? In that case.

I'm quite surprised how forgettable the music of Westlife and even JLS actually is.

I like a few of the early singles by 1D, 'What makes you Beautiful', 'Live While You're Young', 'Story of My Life', 'Best Song Ever'....some great pop music there.

I liked a few of the 90s boybands - Dru Hill, Jodeci, Next, Solo, Shai - that sort of thing. All sounds very dated now though

beg to disagree, Westlife music is classic in most Southeast asian countries. Surely when they reunite and have a tour in Asia, it will be massive.

I'd say for me...

1. Take That

(drop)

2. NSYNC
3.Backstreet Boys
4.Blue
5.East 17

Ok ones: Boyzone, Five, Hanson, Busted, Another Level, Point Break, Bros, 3T, JLS, Boyz II Men.

One Direction have too many bad songs in my opinion for me to have an ok/good impression and The Wanted pretty much all sounded the same.

I'd rather not comment on Westlife and was only reminded of their existence through this thread.....

The final two One Direction albums were fantastic, they'd really developed their sound.

Favourite boyband song?

What Makes You Beautiful by One Direction is, in my opinion, a fantastic pop song. I also liked Drag Me Down and History from them as well.

A fairly good assessment but I'd put Backstreet Boys on a level with Take That and place N Sync third after a slight drop. And while I wasn't a Westlife fan per se, they did have a few great songs and their impact was undeniably huge at the time.

One Direction's back catalogue is terrible. Considering the song writers they'd have had at their disposal, they made very few genuinely catchy, memorable and joyful songs. I'd say only two, actually: What Makes You Beautiful and Best Song Ever. Most of their other stuff was dirge in the style of Ed Sheeran's early stuff.

Take That, Backstreet Boys and N Sync are the holy triumvirate of boybands. The songs these three groups put out in their respective heydays have lasted the distance and still sound amazing today. Modern groups could only hope to record anything as iconic as Back For Good, I Want It That Way or Bye Bye Bye.

I also had a huge soft spot for Busted; A Present For Everyone is a brilliant album.

Blue has always been my favorite boy band, I think Lee Ryan has one of the best voices. Especially on 'Breathe easy'

A few other favorites were - Hanson, Westlife, A1, Busted, backstreet boys, NSync and 5ive
