From the moment Ore and Joanne got up on those drums that was one of the most emotional things I've seen for a long time. Is it just me? I had a feeling from then on like a kid waiting for Santa and waited to see the other two showdances, but was pleased that I still preferred the first one. Then when the pro dancers did that group dance for Len I started to cry and sobbed until the whole thing was over. I can't remember the last time I felt like that about a tv show. I wasn't even at all excited about the final in the slightest, but the planets aligned in that somehow. I was so delighted that Ore and Joanne won, and they hadn't been my favourite at any point before that. Thank you to all, and thank you Len. Maybe it is also partly that you know this is the end of an era and it won't ever be the same again.

As Len said, if he was going to leave then this year's series and tonight's programme were definitely the best time to leave.

What a lovely post!!

My favourite bit (because my inner child is an idiot) was Ore sliding down the bannister. It's the flipping final of a dance show on live tv and he's playing on the stairs! Loved it

me too. I'm welling up. I really shouldn't drink a whole White Lightning before sitting down for an evening's entertainment. I hope I can get to the toilet in time.

Drag the telly to the loo, or vice versa

Show some initiative, sheesh

Lovely post Karly and I have to agree about it being an emotional final.

I blubbed when Ore did his wonderful AS and then saw Gene Kelly's widow. The Len tribute was fitting for someone who has been a stalwart to the show - yes I blubbed again. When Jo thanked Ore for being such a wonderful partner - blubbed again. Then when they actually won the whole damn thing I was blubbing along with the best of them.

It was a lovely feelgood final and the bar has been set very high for next year.

Thanks everyone - just interested to see how others reacted too, as that is SO not me - and I haven't been drinking, and I'm not pregnant It was brilliant.

It's been an emotional series for me. From Daisy onwards I've been an absolute mess at every elimination!

I thought it was a great show tonight--in contrast to last year's final, which I remember as being rather dull. I have been drinking, though

Absolutely loved the final and the dance that touched me the most was Louise and Kevin's showdance. I don't think they deserved the win but that moved me.

It's been an incredible series and I think Ore tonight totally deserved that win, all three of his performances gave me goosebumps.

Brilliant.

Lovely post Karly. I ADORED it all tonight, loved the dancing, the board the vibe of supportive joie de vivre in the show.

And cried like an idiot.

And Ore bloody WON an' all

I am a bit pissed though, but that doesn't mean I'd be any different

I'm not pissed but I think both your post and the one you've quoted have summed it up perfectly.

I know right? I feel drained.

The drama from Danny/Oti/Ore/Joanne was almost expected, but was surprised by my reaction to Louise's showdance. The pure joy on her face when she was running down the middle of the dancefloor at the end had me welling up.

If you're trying to make a joke it hasn't really worked.

It was great, but I was slightly worried he was going to fall off - there was a bit of a wobble!

Me too. It really was beautiful. Tonights show was just the best ever. I feel totally drained now!

It was an emotional end. Ore and Joanne showed how much it meant to win for them.

I loved the unexpectedness of tonight. Had convinced myself the final was a formality and Danny would win whatever (and I'd have been okay with that as I liked him and loved Oti). But when Ore nailed dance after dance and his rivals either faltered (Danny) or didn't quite shine enough (Louise) it became important to me that he won - to make the final mean something. So when Tess announced his name it was a truly wonderful sense of euphoria and justice.
