My apologies!
I've just seen it back, it was a brilliant tribute, so fitting & deserved. This must have been the 10 minute break i had ha ha! Seem abit stupid now!

Yep totally agree...perhaps Ore best of the night but Danny deffo best of series.

Plenty of glitterballs about on the tour for the rest of em, i'm sure Louise and Danny will get some...
The tour doesn't really matter in the great scheme of things though - it's like a wedding reception where everyone just has fun. The main thing has already happened and that's all that will count moving forward.

it doesn't matter who is the best on the night or who has been the best so far in the series

its a poll by the public on the night
basically a popularity vote

this vote is suposed to be influenced by the perfprmances on the night
buit its a case of vote for your fave and go from their

Funnily enough I did initially think of saying 'did you fall asleep for ten minutes?' but thought it might come across as unintentionally harsh so left it out!

At first I was gutted Danny & Oti didn't win but now thinking about it I'm glad they didn't win because there would have been claims by people saying Danny didn't deserve it because he was a ringer and that he didn't a deserve a place in the final which is nonsense.

In the end the public voted for the person in Ore who they thought were the best on the night and the one who had no dance training.

Going back to Danny & Oti they made this series to me and loved what they broughtt
to the show this year nearly every dance had been amazing and will go down as my favourite ever partnership.

No one will ever come close to the magic, perfection and joy they have delivered this year.

Two important reasons why Danny did not win..

1- Even ignoring mistakes that Danny made, Ore was better by a country mile last night and brought his A game when it mattered.

2 - More people voted for Ore. No matter how good you are, if you don't get enough votes, you don't win.

Depends what you're voting on, doesn't it, the final or the whole series? I'd guess that most people were voting on what they saw in the final and hence Ore won.

In any final, it's how you perform on the day. Imagine if they awarded the FA Cup to the loser at Wembley because they'd played better in previous rounds! It doesn't work that way.

Leaving aside the 'journey', which we all know viewers like to see, Ore danced best on the night so the result was correct.

Even though Danny didn't win, he was the best on night for me and throughout the series. Despite his mistakes in the Quickstep, it was still a very good dance. I absolutely loved his Samba and Showdance.

Danny was the best of the series and fully expected his name to be called as the winner, but I felt Ore and Jo were comfortably the best on the night.
Spot on. Just watched their showdance again on iPlayer and it was perfection.
They didn't put a foot wrong all night.
I wanted Danny to win because Oti's got a cracking pair of legs.
I also wanted Kevin to win because Louise is very pretty and a "natural"
How shallow am I????

But at the end of the day, Ore and Jo's routines were superb.
And Jo is quite pretty too. Especially with that blonde wig on.
Ooops there's that shallowness again!

Yes, you are right, and I am sure that the show will bring Danny all the rewards he deserves. I will be very surprised if he isn't offered a West End musical in the next few months.

I hope that the Danny knockers noticed that he was the first two rush over to Ore and give him a big hug when he was announced as the winnfer.

Typical of Danny, what a lovely, genuine guy he is.

It's a knockout competition, so the one with most votes on the night wins.

You'd think it wrong if, in the FA cup final, the team with the lowest number of goals won because they'd been better all through the season, wouldn't you?

Same applies to any knockout competition. Danny messed up his QS, Ore was the best on the night.

I was rooting for Danny and Oti all the way but I can see why he was pipped to the post by Ore. Having said that, Ore has been on live tv for a long time and that experience is a massive advantage in being able to control your nerves in such a pressured situation, nerves got the better of Danny last night.

I liked what Len said about Danny's ability had made everyone else have to raise their game and that's what made it such a good season.

I think ultimately it was Ore's 'j' word and progression that won him the trophy and that's as it should be. I just hope Danny follows Tom Chambers path now...

No she isn't. We got several really good looks at her dark roots (about an inch of them) while her hair was being done over the last week's ITT.

It's all about the public vote in the final and Ore and Joanne won it.

Danny was the best dancer, maybe the best dancer ever but his first dance exposed his weaknesses. If that hadn't happened things might have turned out differently.

The best dancer not winning is a Strictly tradition so Danny is in good company

The person who won should have won.

Otherwise you are saying you don't agree with democracy- or what you wanted is more important than what the majority wanted.

Jo has always been blonde in all the years that I have known her, throughout her competitive career, right from a young girl. She chooses different hair colours of course now and then, but she is naturally fair, not dark. You can see that it is bleached to reach the level of blondness that she is now, but as said, she is naturally fair - look at her early photos.

Ore definitely won the final. I say this as someone who is a huge Danny/Oti fan.

I think I like the fact that Strictly is becoming more like GBBO, in the sense that all is forgotten on final day and you win based on what you deliver on the night. Wins like Gough and Chris Hollins annoyed me as they clearly were not based on the dances on the night, but Ore was the best performer tonight and thus deserved to win.
A very good point.

When I first saw Jo she was a juvenile aged about 11, dancing with Kevin, and she was naturally blonde then and was blonde right the way through her competitive career. Blonde is her natural colour, but there are 'shades' of blonde and she may have had her hair lightened even further for her part as Marilyn Monroe, which made her roots look darker.

Danny messed up in the first two dances. Ore didnt put a foot wrong tonight so in my opinion was the winner of the final. Danny probably would have won if he hadnt made those glaring mistakes!

I'm not so sure that he would. Viewers are told to vote for their "favourite" and apart from on these threads, everyone I know wanted Ore to win. They saw him as the one who achieved the most, and enjoyed watching him 'become a dancer'.

You have your thoughts and others have theirs. I have to say that Danny was no where near as good as in previous weeks, and thank goodness the judges votes didn't count. Craig gave a 9 to Ore in one dance just because he didn't point his toe in one step, then having noticed that Danny was totally out of sync in the beginning of his quickstep routine and then made another error near the end, he still gave him 9. There was no comparison between the two dancers.
Except that Danny's choreography was harder than Ore's choreography.........

She may have been blond as a child but she isn't naturally blond now. Her roots are dark.

I would have preferred Danny to win - I have loved watching him dance over the last few weeks, but I can understand why Ore won last night. Very crowd pleasing dances. I loved Danny's showdance but something more graceful may have won over casual viewers - as seems to have happened with Ore. The people watching with me only watched the final and hated Danny's showdance. For me without doubt Danny was the best dancer of the series (and indeed any series I have watched) but I still understand why Ore won last night.

In future though if they are going to play the Never Danced Before card - maybe that is the only kind they should ask - or eliminate people like Danny who are "too good" early on.
