Following last week's 'outcry' re Claudia being 'ousted' from the Final, how do you think she & AJ would have fared against what we've now seen in the Final?
She would have done just fine. Better dancer than Louise, no idea if she would have won but she would definitely have competed at the same level as Danny and Ore

Yes I absolutely think she could have. I feel that she was the dancer who was peaking at the right time. I think she would have added something different to the final. I don't know whether she could have won it or not (possibly not against the tide of in-house Ore support) but she would definitely have added some fun and sparkle. It all felt a bit intense, serious and lacking in that tonight imo.

She did steal the end of the show when all the contestants returned, she did an excellent tumble run, in heels and on a hard floor. And the reason that she may have struggled is because Louise stopped pretending she didn't know how to dance tonight. So pleased that Ore won, that I think Oti is the best dancer and would have liked Danny to win because of Oti.
She was wearing white pumps

Quite possibly. She would have still finished 4th though.
But with a better Dance Off than Danny last week, he would not have been there tonight.

I think Cloudia was coming into her own. She might not have won but I think she would have been fun to watch.

No, in my opinion.

Plus we would have got a gymnastics-heavy showdance, which I don't tend to enjoy.
I don't normally like them but Claudia was able to incorporate gymnastic moves into her dances quite seamlessly.

Still think the final was lacking without her and it was a shame she didn't make it.

I don't think she would have won. Think Ore had this in the bag as soon as he did his AS imo.

This was a sub-par final. There was no intensity or excitement and it seemed really obvious that the judges wanted Ore to win. In the end it was Danny that should've won based on tonight's performances and, just like Kellie last year, he lost out.
To answer your original question, yes Claudia and AJ would've totally been able to compete with that and no doubt in my mind their show dance would've stolen the show. No matter what happened in the end, Claudia was still a better dancer than both Ore and Louise.
Funny how people's opinions differ - my thoughts are basically the complete opposite of yours.

For me this was one of the best finals Strictly's ever had, all three were worthy finalists, but Ore was best on the night. The judges' thoughts are always irrelevant.

To answer the OP's question, no, I don't think Claudia would have been able to compete tonight. I don't think she's as good a dancer as either Ore or Louise, and I don't think AJ would have been able to resist making their showdance a gymnastics-fest. The great joy of tonight for me was seeing three showdances that showcased how good the celebrities were at dancing rather than just being packed full of crazy lifts. Claudia would have looked a bit out of place for me.

I think Claudia would have done better than Louise, but I am biased and really wanted Claudia in the final with Ore and Danny. I don't think she would have won though - and I don't think her two dances would have held up against Danny's QS/Samba & Ore's AS/Jive combos...her showdance would have had the potential to be spectacular though.

Who knows?
People like the strangest things.
I found her routines mildly irritating to watch.

I don't know- if she'd done her QS (not that she would have been able to- I don't think you're allowed semi final dances) and her Charleston I think she could have matched them.

Considering how Louise did I'm sure Claudia would have been absolutely fine. I do fear AJ would have completely misjudged the Showdance, though, so maybe it's good she didn't quite get there.

I think she would have brought much more excitement to the proceedings. I'd agree that her showdance would likely be a gymnastic showcase - but I think the other two would have been pure dance.

I don't normally like them but Claudia was able to incorporate gymnastic moves into her dances quite seamlessly.
In the Argentina Tango she used her core strength a lot and did a stag leap, other times she may have done an ariel cartwheel, or a sommersault but she didn't even use it instead of dancing. She wanted to learn those move better and be more fluid and use it for her gymnastics, especially beam and floor. She can do spins and turns because they are compulsory in gymnastics. Last week she used none of her gymnastics in the Rumba or The Quicksteps, unless you could her ability to hold her legs up, which is due to training since she was six years old. Today was the first time she did a full tumble run and she would have been mindful of not getting any injuries and therefore been careful with her gymnastics on that hard floor.
Claudia's biggest advantage above the others apart from Greg, she that she is already very, very, fit and strong. She has spent eight months of this year training to get to Rio with all the strength training and core exercises and 30 hours a week in the gym, then went to Strictly before her team mates had left Rio.

If Claudia danced at her best and there were 4 in the final she would have had a chance at 3rd or maybe 2nd but not winning.
Especially after Louise's over generous treatment from the judges. Louise's Cha cha cha and show dance were not great.
Would Claudia have been there if Will Young hadn't pulled out ?

I think she would have equipped herself very well. Her show dance would have been fantastic and the other dances she could have done would have been epic:

Charleston - was already outstanding when she did it in week three.
Paso - Imagine that with her improved performance ability
VW - Imagine that with her improved technical ability.

I think she would have stepped up to the mark and held her own.

She definitely shouldn't have gone last week, but that's in the past. Nothing could have been done.

I also loved having 3 dance based showdances.

Claudia would have done an exciting and athletic showdance, but wasn't as good as Ore and Danny.

She danced against the three in the final just last week and showed that she was very much capable of holding her own against them.

In the semi-final both Ore and she had the same dance (the Quickstep) and hers was better than his. In fact I thought it was much better. It was the best dance of the semi-final in the opinion of a great many people, including that of most of the dance experts on here.

So yes, I've absolutely no doubt she'd have been able to compete in terms of the quality of her dancing.
