I REALLY REALLY feel for Oti...
I have loved and had high hopes for Danny even before he had danced a step on Strictly. Once he was paired with my joint fave female pro, I knew that there was only one word for it - DYNAMITE.
But I want to put the spotlight on the other half of this partnership who thoroughly deserved to win tonight for her sheer excellence as a dancer, her amazing originality as a choreographer and her wonderful teaching ability demonstrated by her taking on an exemplary celeb dancer and turning him into an EVEN BETTER one. Her name is Oti Mabuse - so, in defeat, let's hear it for THE undoubted 'Strictly Professional of 2016'!!! Well done Oti!!! x |

I agree.
I also feel bad for Oti because I have gut feeling that this is the only time that she will be given a contender. |

Agree!
Hopefully she'll get a contender next year. But firstly, I hope she's on the show next year! |

Unbelievable that the most fabulous professional didn't win ... even when she was paired with the best dancer in the competition !

I can't see her staying because unlike another finalist, she's guaranteed a duffer. Danny will be a hard act to follow, reminding me of Aliona's quitting only she had been given a fair crack of the whip in the past.

Yes I do too, She really deserved to win that. Not saying Ore didn't but she and Danny so did deserve a win.

Which will be impossible I grant. Losing as she did was NO LOSS, she's gained massively, and she'll get the 'not fair' idiot vote. I hope Oti acts like a damned professional. She's only been in the show two years and got to the final. |

I adore Oti but I don't feel for her - she had a fantastic series and has definitely cemented her position as a popular and respected pro.
I'm sure she'll get a less-than-stellar contestant next year, but I think she's smart enough to realise that she'll get another shot if she puts as much effort into the duffers as she did Danny. Nothing like Aliona, who left to start a family after 3 finals and 2 wins! Oti is just getting started! |

I will be totally honest......
I have loved watching Oti rather than watching Danny.....his "ringah" status put me right off from the onset but I have commented often and very positively about Oti's incredible choreography, trust and vision.....and legs!!! Tonight I have to say that their showdance was spectacular to the point I actually whooped and applauded at the end.....I loved it. Far better than the others although I loved Kevin and Louises from the sheer romance and contemporary style. When the winner was announced I truly felt for Oti..........I don't think she will ever get such a fabulous opportunity to lift the trophy again, and I said to my OH who wasn't even watching - she must have asked herself what else she could have done. She must be gutted. |

Then she needs to grow a pair.

She's done so well this year I don't think she needs to feel bad about not winning. Not only did she get to the final, she had a celeb with whom she could do creative choreography and with whom she could dance full out and showcase herself as well. It's been a great series for her.

I think this series has been great for Oti, and the final result doesn't change that.

I agree. I just hope she sticks with the show because she's an incredible choreographer. She really deserved to win with Danny.

The glitterball is only a tacky bit of plastic. Oti and Danny have won in all meaningful senses of the word.

I agree that Oti has been phenomenal this series, her choreography is amazing and she's a wonderful dancer. Her partnership with Danny has been outstanding and they've clearly become great friends. I think Jo has been brilliant this year as well - the two returning pros who haven't really had much of a chance to show what they can do in the past have absolutely blossomed when given dancers with natural ability and it's been wonderful to watch. They're top of my list for pros I want to see back next year! Quote:
She will definitely be on 'duffer duty' next year - but, if she sticks around, they will DEFINITELY not waste her the year after...

Perhaps Anton and Brendan will console her. Theyve seen it all before, after all.
If she sulks I'll go off her. (terrifying I know )

I'm sure Danny and Oti will win some nights on the tour so they'll get something out of it like Rachel/Vincet did. That's what's nice about it....

Oti might well get a duffer next year, it's up to her to make the best of it.
Katya did pretty well with her duffer |
