OP. I wasn't going to watch either after last week but I decided I would. Wish I hadn't cause Ore won and that was my worse fear.
The show was ok but I have seen better. Danny should have won but Ore was top of the leaderboard and I have to grudgingly admit that he did dance well. I think it was a foregone conclusion that he was going to win. Just wish Id followed my instincts and not watched. The celebs dance was good though so that made up for it. |

I wasn't going to watch. I haven't bothered with the last few weeks but I felt bad missing a final after all these years. I'm so glad I did. The dancing was wonderful and I am so pleased with the result.

I also wasn't going to bother watching but did. Ore pulled out all the stops and Danny's mistakes in his opening dance set the scene. His show dance was phenomenonal, IMO. A good send off for Len and a fab feel good factor group dance

OMG... danny made a mistake?
Louise: Her first dance was the Cha Cha Cha, it was lacklustre, had no energy & had hardly any hip movement. It felt as if she didn't want to be there. Her showdance, was a lot of wafting of the arms to please Darcey & I still did not understand what they were trying portray ![]() Her Tango was her best dance of the night. Overall her dancing was good but didn't have the wow factor. Danny: His first dance was the QS, he made several mistakes and one that was so obvious even the Judges couldn't ignore. Maybe nerves played a factor, I dunno. His second dance was the showdance. Was brilliant if you like contemporary, it wasn't for me. His last dance of the night was the Samba. Again a brilliant performance but it lacked the impact the first time around. Ore: His first dance was the AS, his posture was much improved, Craig pointed out one tiny mistake that he didn't point his foot in one move so gave him a 9. Overall much improved dance from last time. Gene Kelly's Widow, Patricia, was in the audience & Claudia introduced her after the dance. His Second Dance was the showdance. It had everything in it including giant set of drums. His last dance was the Jive. Was clean and sharp, much improved from week 4. Overall both Danny & Ore out danced Louise and IMO she came 3rd. Ore upped his game, he danced as if he wanted to win. Danny danced as if he didn't want to lose. Louise was just happy to be in the final. I think that was the main difference between the 3 finalists. Plus Ore must have won over a lot of the 35% of floating viewers who hadn't decided before the final who they were going to vote for. While waiting for the winner's name, they were looking at Danny & Louise and even Jo was tapping her hand along with the audience clapping. Both Jo and Ore were in total shock when Ore's name was called out by Tess. That was my take on the Final, but I'm sure many will disagree

I did sky+ the final but I haven't watched it yet, not sure that I will bother now I know the result. I think the Beeb ought to think of a new title for the show.

What happened? The Guardian blogger did a good "Strictly Final 2016 as it happened" and the BBC strictly facebook page has interesting comments and clips. It was a very mixed reaction, all round..with many saying it was a big let down. None of the show dances had me gasping like Carolines did. I did however go on line and post all 6 votes for Danny, whom i believe was the first to rush over and congratulate Ore..Danny and Oti were a class act. Who would have thought that a dancer with "Spatulistic" Hands and semi final performances that were "littered with errors", would have won Strictly...but he did. I just couldnt come to grips with his emotional creepiness, but I am delighted for Joanne. |

I hear that a lot of folks boycotted the final..good..i hope it put a dent in the BBcs rating figures.
you say 'a lot'........ ![]() Strictly Come Dancing 2016 final ended on a series high in the ratings last night. An average audience of 11.8 million tuned in across the marathon 2 hour plus long show, with a peak audience of 12.8 million. last night's single average was up on 2015, where 11 million watched, and the peak audience was up 900,000 viewers. It was the most watched episode of this year's Strictly series overnight but it remains to be seen if it can rise to become the most watched show of the year |

Skyrah, I won't quote your post as it's quite long, but it seems a pretty fair, reasonably objective summary to me.
Although why you went to so much trouble to satisfy some sulking child who refused to watch the show and then demanded other people take the time to tell him what happened is beyond me. |
