I'd love her to do it but I think after having had Carol and Naga over the past two years they'd be more likely to go for a man next year.

So I'd suggest Charlie Stayt or Ben Thompson (preferably Ben)
Massive yes to Ben, I really fancy him haha He's VERY tall though.

2/ Jess Ennis-Hill, now retired, a self confessed lover of SCD, the only thing that would stop her is having a second baby.

I think she would be EXTREMELY good, I can see her doing it, I think she could be a Natalie Gumede #2.
Yes... I immediately had Natalie Gumede vibes. She is a Central School of Speech and Drama Musical Theatre grad so certainly will have a few moves.

Are we due another DJ? Sara Cox, DJ and mate of Zoe Ball, was rumoured last year and I still think is a good call.

For years, I've had a wish to see David Tennant because he'd be nice, fun and interesting to watch because I've seen him try to learn to waltz (for an episode of Doctor Who ages ago and oh, bless ), but I know he won't ever do it because he's extremely protective of his privacy and you know the Strictly producers would lose their minds trying to get him to trot his wife and kids out. He wouldn't go for that.

I wouldn't be surprised if Steph McGovern was next years obligatory BBC Breakfast contestant. She does seem to being pushed into other shows by the beeb lately.

She's a former champion Irish dancer as well. After disappointing performances from Carol and Naga I wouldn't be surprised if Breakfast pushed for a "ringer".

I know Ore is technically Breakfast as well, but I got the impression Naga was there main entry this year.

I find Jessica Ennis-Hill slightly dull if I'm honest I could see her being another Victoria Pendleton type, but I can 100% seeing her doing it.

Michelle Keegan, Tim Peake are two others I could see.

Jessica/Neil
Michelle/Gorka
Tim/Joanne

Predicting partnerships already

I keep suggesting Guy Henry from Holby City/Casualty as a partner for Natalie, but I doubt he'd do it. Ben is a much more realistic suggestion. Definite yes from me

I like Steph, so I wouldn't be bothered if she signs up.

My other hopefuls:

Tomasz Shafernacker
Alex Beresford
James Anderson
Jermaine Jenas

An EastEnders cast member (past or peresent) will be inevitable, but maybe a Holby City or Casualty cast member might also feature next year..I would go for David Ames ( who plays Dr Dominic in Holby City)

There are a couple of Casualty/Holby people I can see doing the show - Chelsea Halfpenny, Camilla Arfwedson, Lucinda Dryzek.

By all accounts she really didn't enjoy the Christmas special she did a few years ago.

She danced a little bit with Alexander Armstrong in the Sound of Music Live and wasn't too bad. She looked like she might be a Katie Derham type - elegant in the ballroom but perhaps not so good at Latin.

Don't know where you got that from! She's all gung-ho in this interview ...

I think we need a few older people for 2017 than we had this year. Only Lesley Joseph was over 50.

It was more that she was uncomfortable getting up close and personal with a man other than her husband, from what I recall. Presumably, if she can get over feeling awkward about dancing in close hold with her pro partner, she might be willing to do Strictly.

Helen Skelton

Nicola Adams (Boxer)

I think Helen Skelton is more likely for 2018 than 2017. She's currently pregnant, and admittedly she's due in the spring, but she might still find Strictly in 2017 to be too big a commitment and too physically exhausting to take on with two little children, the younger one only a few months old at the time.
