People are acting like Danny was rubbish last night he wasn't he only messed up on one dance and for me his showdance and samba were flawless loved both of them.
I just wish the judges picked another dance other than his QS even though I loved the first time around I think he would have done a lot better. Yes he didn't win but for me this series was made by Danny & Oti no other partnership will ever bring me the joy and the quality in dance they have this year |

I think it was still great with the mistakes. Changing the start confused me a bit though. I think Danny's Quickstep in week 4 deserved 10's whilst I agree with the scores they got yesterday. Felt sorry for him though he seemed so nervous

Danny's mistake in the Quickstep was obvious so had to be mentioned. !
For me, the best dancer on the night won the gig, and quite rightly. |

Timing issues in his showdance. Watched back on YouTube it happens around 58 secs in.

Danny made some pretty huge mistakes tonight & his and Oti's show dance, in my opinion was very drama school teen angsty... quite embarrassing
![]() The judges obviously had to point it out, Craig was generous with a 9 imo. The Samba pulled them back from the brink but who votes that late? It was a forgone conclusion that Ore would be the winner... Louise's Cha Cha had no rhythm/hip action & as much as I loved it, contemporary isn't for everyone ... so their show dance was a moot point... sadly Singer singing Adele's 'Fire to the Rain' didn't help matters & was pretty terrible too, maybe the BBC could actually use tracks for the final next series? Has there been any other more obvious slip ups in the final before - I can't seem to recall ![]() |

Can we count Bacofoil as a "mess up", or is it just an absolute mess?

Tom Chambers slipped on the floor and nearly went on his behuki during his Final Foxtrot but still won thanks mainly to his Showdance

Still boggles my mind that Caroline Flack won with her contemporary number, but then a lot of the viewing public like Pasha so... and her Charleston to 'Istanbul' was brilliant!
![]() See I'm not in that demographic and tbh I really disliked Ore's numbers, except the Jive so it could very well be an age thing. I wouldn't vote for them for sure. Isn't there a slide in Tom's foxtrot routine? Or am I thinking of someone else? ![]() |

I assume that younger people are more likely to vote though, especially online!

I think in the end the mistakes didn't make much difference. More of a factor was the Len-driven high praise for Ore. That had more credence with it being his final show.

I agree, although I did like it, it was a bit too combative, in the final it feels like they should be together and celebrating them as a couple.
I have felt quute a few of their dances to have an excess of aggression, especially their argentine tango, it felt almost violent at the end. I think casual watchers and voters maybe saw that against Ore and Jo who looked like they were having a great time togther and putting on a show and voted for the overall feel good factor of it. Certainly a powerful piece but sadly it made them look like a couple at odds with each other, rather than a show of cohesive togetherness.

I voted for Ore as in my eyes he danced the best on the night. He entertained me the most. I can't recall anything the judges said! |

It was all about the pendulum swings - half a beat out of sync up near the band, stage right. I dance as well as Ann Widdecombe, so am not really qualified to judge - which I am not doing - but even a clodhopper like me can count, which DM obviously had issues doing. I think Oaty is a terrific choreographer, but that SD was poor and over complex to the detriment of (a) the perormance and (b) Danny's nerves, which were, IMHO, the principal factor in his fall from grace and elegance last night.
For me, the best dancer on the night won the gig, and quite rightly. I loved his showdance, but each to their own. I thought he and Oti both looked nervous last night. PS - please spell Oti's name correctly. Quote:

Even if it was a mistake, I don't think it affected the dance, at least not for me - I was still mesmerised the second time round. |

I have not been so involved in a couple since Scott & Natalie where, like Danny & Oti, I loved every routine.
I do think that Ore had caught up with Danny in his actual dance performance, but Danny had no real story to add to the brilliance whereas Ore had his 'journey' from novice to dancer which was played out at every opportunity, plus there was Pat Kelly. |

As for danny's first-dance mistake...did it really influence anything? Not really. |

TBH I didn't see much of a 'journey' for any of the finalists. Ore's dances in the final were from weeks 3 and 4, and he did them just as well back then. This 'novice ' thing is so much hype.

Chelsee Healey messed up in her final too and was obviously affected by nerves.
